The hairclipper series 5000 is built to last and engineered to perform with Philips DualCut technology which can power through any hair type. The cutting element combines a double-sharpened cutting element with low-friction engineering, this means that the clipper cuts hair twice as fast as the regular Philips clippers.
This model has a self-sharpening titanium blades for cutting performance, sharpness and durability. This! I got it for beard an the "perfect stubble" it's awful I went an got the Vac shaver much better now this one just sits inter draw with 6 other bears trimmers I need to stop!

Should be good on 0.5mm as a shaver just to leave a little stubble. Would imagine pretty good for manscaping too just be careful, nicked my sack with my Wahl one and wow it stings

I also bought one of these last year, but have only started using them in October. The trimmers themselves are very good, however I have problems with the adjustable height comb attachment. It flexes, meaning if you push a bit too hard you can end up with a shorter section of hair somewhere on your head. The length of the comb guard is also an issue if you are cutting an internal radius (the blades are mid point on the comb and the comb is quite bulky) like where the back of your neck meets the base of your skull. The result being I end up with a section of longer hair at the base of my head.
I bought these to replace my Remington's and they were for me a bad purchase, I will be replacing the Phillips with the type that have individual combs for different hair lengths as there is less margin for error.

I bought this recently at £30 and left it with family when I went on holiday so was looking to get a new one, was considering others just to see what else was about. At this price though it's pretty great. Personally I didn't have any problems with the cutting aspect of it, you just need release some hair after a certain mount of strokes. One thing I noticed on first use was that when trimming my beard without attachments my hair was not flying around like with cheaper clippers I have used, they were just being cut and falling off.
The clipper is good to hold, it has a long battery life, a very quick charge and has turbo mode. Just so you know one attachment is adjustable and the 3 beard combs are set. Also one piece of advise for anyone using the adjustable setting attachment is that for the best cut you need to push the bottom edge against the hair/skin at all times of cutting for a uniform cut (found this out after a few times thinking it was cutting uneven). For this price and what else is around it seems to be a bargain.
Bought this a few months back when it was on offer. Absolute rubbish and returned to Amazon. Read the
1-3 star reviews. You have to keep going over the same part of your head for it to shave/trim it. Plastic rubbish.
And I've owned several Philips clippers before btw all which have been good.
It's wide and bulky which makes it very difficult around the ears. The main guard gets clogged every stroke. Huge pity as you would get a quick haircut out of this otherwise.
I bought it as a combo for beard and head because i didn't want 2 trimmers laying about. However, it's a terrible substitute for a beard trimmer, pulls hair, leaves patches. An uneven and painful mess. My facial hairs are quite thick and curly so maybe it would be more forgiving on others?
Overall i think it's only worth having if you want to use it without the guards. It's pretty satisfactory and fast at close cuts, especially with turbo on. Though i can't recall if it gets as close as some would like it.

I've got same one from tesco for £28 and it's just great. The only thing is the box itself. No room especially created to sort all the stuff inside. Everything is ratteling in it after you take all out from the wrapping and put it inside the box. Other than that is OK.
I did my hair myself once so far and can't complaint.
Hated the previous one coz it couldn't keep the desired length in place but this one is a miles better with this kind of spin-lock.
