8 hour charge is awful.

In what way? Any normal person would simply leave it on charge overnight, so there's no inconvenience.
I have a slightly older model with a trimmer, and being able to wash it out under the tap is extremely useful.

I have this. pay 10 more for trimmer and fast charge. mine now needs blades which cost the same as a new 1!

I've had this shaver for 2 years. Don't worry too much about the 8 hour charge. I charge mine once every 1-2 months and it works brilliantly. Blades last 2 years too.

I don't get the issue with the charge time personally, my OH would put his on charge and walk away from it until the next morning anyway.
Over all it has good reviews

Yes, I've had this shaver for at least 4-5 years and has served me well. I have found it only takes me about an hour or so (definitely less than 2) to fully charge. It's not the closest shave out there - you need to go over the stubble a couple times to get a clean shave - but I'm happy with it. Am going to buy it again now - the on/off button has stopped responding properly after all the use

This is the worst shave I've ever had. Takes hours to charge and then even longer to shave. Struggles with anything other than 5 O Clock shadow.
£9.99, might be useful to someone. Of course you have to factor in delivery (there was a £5 off delivery code recently but it expired yesterday).

I have one of these I have had it for about 9 months now and its fantastic
Fully waterproof so easy to use in the shower and shaves brilliantly dry aswell, easy to clean with Philishave cleaning spray from Boots for £4 and it keeps it smelling lovely and fresh too!
Yes it takes around 8-10 hours to charge, so I just leave it overnight and jobs a good-un, remember batteries that have fast charge don't last no longer than about 150 charge cycles, the high amperage needed to charge in an hour destroys the life of the battery, whereas slow charging a battery keeps it in great condition and will recharge at least 500 cycles before it reaches the end of its life..
Lots of people don't know this and never take this into account!

My current Philishave shaver is nearly 5 years old and charges in less than an hour. If I need to I can shave with it plugged in, you cannot do that with this model, so if its flat in the morning, when most people shave, then you are unable to shave.
