If you see no difference then great, glad they both work and it doubles your yield from each scroll saw blade!

In case others aren't aware the upstroke blade will tend to leave a cleaner finish on the side facing down, the down stroke blade will leave a cleaner finish on the side facing up as you cut (particularly true on brittle or splintery materials). Happy jigsawing!

yes that is right but iv used them to cut perspex sheet this morning with no problems at all plus this is just a way of let say trial and error it work for me! so just cut both your blades in the down stroke position.

It may make little difference but it looks like the middle left (and poss middle right too) of your copies will cut on the down stroke. Mostly jigsaw blades cut on the up stroke thus putting the blade under tension. I'd have thought blades as slim as this might buckle if you try and cut on the down stroke...suspect it's down to making two jigsaw blades from one scrollsaw blade, one is right and one wrong - depends on which end of the scrollsaw blade you use.

got all scroll blades 130mm from ebay tried the copy cuts out this morning and all work on metal plastic and wood cheaper than buying the original.

made two blades out of a sliverline scroll blade 130mm

this is a guess and I'll confirm when I get dimensions

24 teeth over 38mm of blade

going to guess it's about 0.3 to 0.4mm wide.

Proxon seems the most likely source.

​The parkside looks ideal for close detailed work on a table top. I think 75w will be ok as the blade is tiny.

researching the blades, I can find nothing. on a us site for a similar Proxon jigsaw there is a suggestion that you use a scroll saw blade and clip the blade to the required length.

it looks like you'd get a couple of cut down blades from a scroll saw blade.

​Thanks. I want it for cutting acrylic to make bits of jewellery so it should do the trick from what you've said. The Bosch ones look good. I've seen others that look quite bulky. The lidl one is only 75w though. I'm worried that might be a problem. :smile:

​just got one. I have a bigger Bosch for DIY. This has much smaller slimmer blades and is handheld. the parkside has a smaller motor and looks suitable for detailed work . wood 12mm plastic 5mm metal 3mm. it looks like it can do very tight turns.

I'm looking to get more spare blades as there are only 2 blades. eBay doesn't seem to turn up anything obvious.

I bought one this morning too . Pretended it was for my son to do his railway modelling but really its for me !
