Wait, you had an OCZ SSD, back then known for failure, and didn't back it up. It died so you lost everything. Then you got another and still didn't back it up?

Very nice price but I'm not going to vote as I had three OCZ drives fail me in the same year one after the other. That was three years ago though so it may have improved. You also have the easy Amazon return as opoose to having to send it direct to the Netherlands like I did for repair.

Toshiba bought OCZ and their quality AFAIK has improved. I bought one not long ago and it's still going strong after a year.

From Serg's SSD "am I getting my money's worth?" school of thought, a few weeks back when an MX300 deal was posted.. STONKING VALUE!
OP, you may want to add that there's 3 year warranty included.

I have 3 OCZ 2 X 60 gb used daily in laptops and a 120 gb running the os on my 2012r2 server which is on 24/7, so can't agree they are all bad mine are all over 3 years old.

Data doesn't exist unless it's in 3 separate places, your own fault for not having a backup

Funny as touch wood the 4 OCZ drives I bought are still going strong after 5 years! I did have one fail one me that I bought on a refurbished deal for stupidly cheap but it still lasted 3 years! I think the fire vault finally killed it when reinstalling Mac OS!

It looks like there were some failed Arc/Trion 100's, but this drive has only been out since Spring

I had an ocz ssd agility 3 from release and it was going strong all the way up to when I sold it a few months back and as far as I know still is. It must be about 6 years old and had daily use.

I still have a Vertex 2 in active use, though (to my horror at the time) I discovered it was completely incompatible with Haswell.
It's now in a budget laptop and seems pretty brisk considering how old it is.

I had an OCZ Arc 100 fail on me, contacted support and they shipped a new drive before I even sent the old one back (which they arranged and paid for). Top level of support.
Restored the data and OS from a backup, all good, lost 1 days web browsing history!

There are other ssd drives on Amazon. If you really need ssd or any other drive would you do your own research or wait for a hotukdeals post?
Some people will only buy once an item is posted as a deal.
Hope it comes back in stock or a new deal is posted for the once who missed it.

The second option for me - I have (well, had) perfectly usable spinny drives, fancied replacing them with SSDs but didn't really need to, so until a great deal popped up there just isn't enough temptation / justification. It's a completely different matter if you need a drive there and then though, as you say!
