Just spend the extra £30 and get an extra 2 year warranty

How was it, there's one on there now for £216 then the current offer is -£30 so £186, but that doesn't seem a good enough deal to be worth it.
I looked at the website and it is £235 which makes it £215 with which deal that looks like it is still on although looking at Foxden post it also suggest that it would normally be £218
Does anyone know how well this company does with support? i can't see mention of warranty but i know Gigabyte give 3 years on GPU's

Plus postage and the £1 magazine subscription, poundshopper. I don't know about warranty or support, I guess the manufacturer warranty is all you get, but isn't a one year warranty standard for online shops?

UPDATE: The special deal has ended on this card & the price is now £218.92 delivered.
It's still the cheapest GTX 1060 6gb I know of.

You can get a 6-pin converter from ebay, but a dedicated rail is of course better.
Also eBuyer or OCUK are good sites to pick up decent PSUs with dedicated 12V rails.

I have this card, got it when they were £209 (with code) from Laptops Direct a few weeks back, think its great, why pay for twin fans when this does the job just as well for less.

Don't suppose anyone knows if a low profile twin slot version is coming? The 1050ti is my back up plan but hoping for a bit more oomph over my 750ti.

Should I go for this or the amd Rx 480 8gb at £200 (MSI version)? I like how I get civ 6 if I go for the 480, are there any free games with this?
Sorry, no free games with the 1060. There was a couple of free games with the 1070 but maybe that offer has finished.
If you can afford it, the 1070 is a great card, but it looks like the Curry PC World ebay deal (GTX1070 for £339.99) has ended. They're about £350+ elsewhere.

Starting to see 1060's & 1070's coming on amazon warehouse managed to get a Gigabyte Nvidia GTX 1060 WF2 6GB just now for £168 after the 20% discount.

Good deal, can't see anything close to that at the moment though, all are used and way above rrp starting at £270 before discount. What condition was it in and have you looked at the warranty situation?

This is the 1060 that I had for a while. Runs at just under 70 degrees under full load whilst being almost inaudible. It's a much better card than the similar EVGA SC model, with a superior cooler that also takes care of the VRMs and memory (which are left completely bare on the EVGA card).
Gigabyte also have UK-based RMA just like EVGA.

Not that silly a question given the 970 issue!
Unless the access in bold was that the 970 could access it all but some at a lower speed?

Any experts out there know if you should use the supplied drivers disk or would the nvidia/AMD drivers (from online) be ok? Would you potentially lose some of the overclocking which may have been carried out?
It's just that I don't have a CDROM drive connected anymore. Thanks in advance.
superdave14 to gfocker
3 Dec 161#12
I'd never use the drivers that come on the CD they will always be out of date. You'll get better performance direct from nvidia
Gkains to gfocker
3 Dec 16#14
No you (almost) never want to use the drivers on the DVD.
If you think about, logically the ones on the disc are quite out-of-date by the time the card makes it through the retail supply chain.

are these less powerful than the full size cards and would my i5 3570k still be a good match?
ashdonson to craigtumilty
3 Dec 16#8
Same power as a larger card but it's only a single-fan model so it might run marginally hotter or louder. I've gone for a dual-fan model but at this price this would be tempting.
Foxden to craigtumilty
3 Dec 16#9
The mini cards are the same as the larger ones, just with a single fan. Personally I would prefer a smaller card.
It's a great match for an i5, especially a K version.
