It seems like this offer has expired...it does seem to state £39.99 now on their website. :disappointed:

If you don't like the freeview experience on it just plug the aerial into the TV and use it instead.

Just use one of the internet TV guides to look up what’s on. I have Youview so I use this if I’m recording 2 things and I want to watch a third channel unavailable to me on Youview

Great box! Used for 4 months now. Excellent picture quality, streaming and live. Cannot fault it.

I personally think this box is a worthwhile upgrade purely for the pause / rewind function on live channels that the old box doesnt have.
I have one, its not our primary source but for £24 it is a good upgrade.

That looks like the Roku 4... Which isn't yet released in the UK.
Anybody know if it supports UDH (4k)? Perhaps you can sideload things like Plex/Amazon on to this?
Interesting.

I got one of these a few weeks ago from Argos eBay (same price) when the 10x Nectar points offer was running.
The Freeview SD/HD picture quality is excellent, even when running off a cheap indoor aerial.
But - as a couple of earlier comments have stated - the Freeview UI is basic and clunky, which is sort of understandable given the absence of any number keys on the remote.
I bought it primarily to get Freeview HD and catch-up services on a TV which isn't 'smart' and has only an SD Freeview tuner. For those two purposes, along with two months 'free' Sky Cinema, it ticked all my boxes so was well worth £25.
Be aware though that there is no aerial passthrough on this box, so unless you use an aerial splitter with two fly leads, the Freeview on your TV is effectively disabled so you're tied to using the aforementioned basic and clunky Freeview UI on this box.
I'll try and find the original post for this which contains further hopefully helpful comments...
Found it here.

According to the Now TV site the older box only does SD for the Entertainment pass whereas the new one does 720p on everything. At £23 including passes that seems like a good enough reason to upgrade to me.

You might like to see what's on the rest of the day though - if this isn't going to be used as a Freeview device what's the point in buying this over a cheaper Now TV? I stand by the fact the Freeview implementation is poor.

Good for old TVs that don't have Freeview, or if your TV is FreeSat only and you want to use an aerial.

prefer the previous generation box. this one is trying to take over your whole TV experience.

Why would you need a seven day guide? You can’t set reminders or record anything.

The Freeview experience is not brilliant tbh, with now/next only and no 7 day guide or EPG.
Opening post
This is the "new" Smart box which includes a Freeview HD receiver and pause and rewind live TV.
It can't record but it's still a clever little box for the price.
