I prefer the 2ds to the new 3ds xl. Perfect balance of comfort, affordability and fun!

I'm trying to get hold of a 2DS Pokemon Sun console but can't find any stock (at a decent price). My son currently has a DS Lite and CEX will give a £26 voucher for this. Has anybody bought a console from CEX before - a bit worried that if I buy one on-line, it will be heavily scratched, etc? Also, will the game cartridges for a DS Lite fit and play in a 2DS (I know that 2DS games will play in a 3DS)?

Also, in I get a 2DS/3DS and my son wants to upgrade later to a 3DS XL will the cartridges fit in this one, seeing it is bigger? Thank you.

Shocking price for a shocking unit and shocking way to experience and play 3DS games. Credit to Nintendo for squeezing these prices and sales out these terrible units. The box looks nice at least Super Mario Bros 2 game is a good game, although the experience of playing it on a dreadful 2DS is clearly going to be reduced significantly.

After buying a 2DS with MK7 last year i've enjoyed using the 2DS a lot, monster hunter is great (and the only retail game that I own) and I say it was worth it just for that.
I'd only buy one if you know you or someone else wants it, with the switch coming in march.

Entirely different consoles though, with entirely different range and style of games. Many will want to do both (our family will be doing both).

Went back to playing Super Mario 3D Land a few days ago to complete the campaign which I felt the game was easy throughout except for the final few levels. Then saw that I unlocked the special worlds which are absolutely superb levels.

Want to get a ds,
Will probably play games like Pokemon, monster hunter, smash bros and Marino kart,
Is it worth waiting for 3ds xl to drop down or just get the 2ds?
Thanks

If you want to get a console from CEX, make sure to get one that says it's boxed. These should have very little wear in comparison to unboxed and discounted ones. All DS and 3DS cartridges will work in the 2DS/3DS/3DS XL, (they all have the same size slot for the cartridge).
