NOTE: New code: Use "zukz2new" to get it for ~£137 if you missed the xmas code (fluctuates with currency exchange rates). Now they also have the black one in stock for ~£145.
Just went back in stock (only white is available), I purchased one myself a week and a half back and Banggood live chat support just told me that it would be shipped within 24H. Cracking price as it was hot at over £200 about 3 months back.
By most accounts there might be some fiddling with the software to remove the vendor ROM it will come with but a Snapdragon 820 device with a large battery and in a smaller (5-inch) form factor for under £140 is a difficult deal to beat.
A few cons of this device, it's lacking NFC, IR Blaster, and 4G band 20 (800MHz) so it might not benefit from full speed 4G depending on where you are and who your provider is - EE doesn't use Band 20 at all, the others do to a varying extent. Whether or not that's a deal breaker is up to each to figure out.
EDIT: Looks like EE might no longer be the last bastion for non band 20 devices. Do note that the 800MHz signal is a bit slower than the other 4G bands so you might not miss on much, but if it's the only one you get in your area it might hurt. There have been reports of people living happily without band 20, but it's very much dependent on circumstances. It looks like a good phone albeit a bit of a gamble.

Cracking price; but it may be worth holding on for a price drop on the Leeco Le Pro 3 which does have IR zapper, NFC, B20 and slightly faster SoC (and bigger screen and battery), but only 32gb ROM, but is the faster UFS2.0.

Do you mean that model or the Leeco Le 2 Pro? The 2 Pro would be in the region of this with a price drop as it is around £170, but the Pro 3 seems quite a bit more expensive, it would take quite a price drop to fall into the same price range as this so you would probably be waiting a while.

Damn anyone else slightly wishing they waited? I paid £155 for mine(I'm waiting on £12 cashback which is stuck on confirmed, so there is that), received it last week, I suppose I still got a good deal and I genuinely needed to replace my old phone which was damaged and on it's last legs.
Prices fall the longer you wait, the bargain hunter in me is still thinking about £138 with cashback ontop though haha I guess we should all just be happy with a good deal, plus at least I got the colour I wanted(black) and who knows how long I'd have to wait to receive it if I ordered now with it being Christmas?

20 Dec 16#34
The price of Chinese phones doesn't follow our logic, often the absolute cheapest price you can get a phone is on pre-order and it actually becomes more expensive over time.
The phone will simply sell out and disappear, or remain listed at a high price even though it's 1 - 2 years old.

Just to note, despite the marketing claims, the phone doesn't actually support QC 3.0.
Why this should be the case isn't clear - perhaps they just haven't bothered to create software support for it? Not good that their marketing material claims it is supported, however. I understand that the Zuk Z2 Pro does currently support QC 3.0.
I've just started using my phone and it is a very well built device with a super fast fingerprint sensor. The 'U-touch' feature is very useful as well. I have to say that the ZUI version of Android is pretty craptastic, however. I'm on the most recent 2.3 Chinese release (Android 6.0) and I know that ZUI 2.5 (Android 7.0) is currently in testing though initial reports are that the interface is still pretty crummy.
Hopefully, once the stable ZUI 2.5 is released, we'll see a good Android 7.0 port (whether CM or Mokee or similar) which allows access to the useful Nougat features bizarrely ignored by ZUK when they cobbled together ZUI.
I come from a Huawei phone and their version of Android, EMUI, is a heck of a lot better than ZUI which is unnecessarily complex when attempting to access certain features of the interface. I've still not got my push notifications properly sorted out - need to jump through a few more hoops for that yet!

Consider the Honor 6X, it literally just came out and there's a deal for £200 on VMall (check HUKD). If it's like the 5X it won't significantly drop in price (I kind of regret not getting that when it came out), and Huawei is quite actively helping the developer community (they gave a number of devices to XDA).
I'm buying both (this is more of a curiosity, quite ridiculous what you get for this price and I couldn't help myself) but if I had to pick one I'd go for the 6X, it seems like the only compromise is in raw battery power and a bit of battery. But it's got NFC (allegedly, though not sure how that works with the metal back, remains to be seen), microSD, (probably) all UK network bands. All in all it's a phone that's more day to day, this I see more as something to play with that has loads of potential and low cost.

Usually I'm up for rooting phones and using custom firmwares.
I've been using the Indian stock Rom on this phone for over a month now. It works perfectly and it uses nigh on vanilla Android which I prefer anyway. Battery easily lasts a day with sensible usage. If you run it out in under a day you should be questioning how much you use a phone!
For the deal price the phone is amazing value. I paid a but more and it's still worth every penny.
My previous phone, a Nexus 5x, was woeful. 2 repairs by LG and it still isn't right. After the wonderful Nexus 5 I was really disappointed. Hence, my go with a cheaper mobile.
I know a China sourced phone is a bit
risky but use a credit card and a well known supplier and it should reduce that risk.

I moved form a Xiaomi Mi5, so it was going to take something good to beat or match it.
At the moment im really liking the Zuk, to put it simply 'it just works' everything i throw at it, it jstu does.
For example yesterday I was driving with google maps on, spotify playing in the background, then I can say "OK google call xyz" and it does it without hesitation.
And the battery life is great. It doesnt have the same quality feel as the mi5, and the camera isnt as good, however the performance and battery life beats it.
HOwever there are two annoyances if anyone knows how to fix?.
If i swipe down on the notification bar, and then let go. The notification icons disappear from the top bar. Is there anyway to tell the phone to keep them there until i read or discard them?
The other one (Which i think is a no as it unique to xiaomi) is there a way to enable one handed mode?

I want a cheapish phone with a good camera. I was going for the honor 6x as I liked the dual rear camera, but the spec on this is tempting me. Camera seems to be poor but price is low for what you get.
Not sure honor 6x or this?
fs39 to redondo5
25 Jan 17#66
If camera is what you're after, the 6x seems to be a good contender, but bear in mind that it's a good £90 more expensive than the ZUK, might be worth it, might not be. But if you're willing to take it to 5.5inch screen size and £200+, it's hard to argue with the Moto G4 Plus. There's even codes floating around on HUKD to get a personalised 4GB/64GB one for ~£250. And at that price range it's even more difficult to argue with the mi5/5s.
I've been living with the Z2 for about 3 weeks now and it's a rock solid phone, cannot fault it at all. I didn't like ZUI all too much but that's a personal preference and even if I did I would have still messed around with it because I've been changing ROMs every 2 weeks for ages now.
I quite like the design, it's heavy and thick but it feels sturdy and actually quite pleasant in the hand irrespective of being quite square-y. I personally think 5.5-inch is too big - 5-inch is a better size for me.
The phone's camera is... okay. I've probably taken no more than 20 pictures in this time and the quality is acceptable, even in low light. It's better than my previous phone (Nexus 5), but that doesn't mean much, I've seen much better. I'm an amateur photographer and I generally have my DSLR in the car ready to go so I don't feel like an amazing camera is high on the list of features I require.
But I'll say this: this phone is totally overkill for me, to the point where I regret buying it a little bit. Maybe I'll change in the future, maybe apps will require more processing power, more RAM, but for now I'm using ~ 2GB RAM at most times, don't think I've ever gone above 3GB RAM usage, with the CPU not even busting a sweat.
Let me elaborate. Best analogy I can think of is regretting buying a Mustang because it's too powerful and I'm never going to be using it at full power. I should have bought something like a Fiesta ST, a pocket rocket. In the world of car enthusiasts there's this saying: it's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow.
Not sure what the smartphone equivalent of a Fiesta ST is, maybe the Redmi 4 Prime with its 4 day battery, the Nokia 6 is exciting but difficult to get hold of.
My point is, performance is just numbers on a paper, you'll probably be fine with an underpowered phone, dual cameras are a gimmick. Could we have a 2 year old flagship sensor and lenses on a budget/mid-range phone? Please?

RAM: 4GB LPDDR4
Storage: 64GB eMMC 5.1
Main Camera: Samsung 13 MP ISOCELL, f/2.2, phase detection autofocus, 1/2.6" sensor size, 1.34 µm pixel size with 4K video @ 30 fps
Front Camera: 8 MP, f/2.0, 1.4 µm pixel size, 1080p
UI: Android Marshmallow v6.0.1 skinned with ZUI 2.0
Screen: 5.0" FullHD 1080p LTPS IPS LCD (441 PPI)

Dimensions: 141.7 x 68.9 x 8.5 mm
Weight: 149 g
Battery: 3500mAh with Quick Charge 3.0 (83% in 30 min)
Others: USB Type-C connector, Fingerprint sensor
Pros:
- Uses latest CPU and hardware is enough to match raw performance of current gen flagships (e.g. Samsung S7, LG G5, HTC 10, Xiaomi Mi5, OnePlus 3)
- Stupidly cheap price
- Lots of RAM and storage
- Fingerprint sensor
- Compact size
- USB Type-C connector
- Large battery with QC3.0
- Reviews seem to mention that GPS and WiFi are good
- Seems to be good dev support from the community
Cons:
- No MicroSD slot
- Design looks very boring in my opinion
- A little large and thick for a 5.0" phone with only 70.6% screen-to-body ratio (but I guess the large battery makes up for it)
- No B20 band (My Xiaomi Mi Note with no B20 band has better consistent performance than my OnePlus 3 with B20 though on Three!)
- Reviews mention average camera performance
- Reviews mention an average screen (not amazing colours nor bright)
- Storage could be faster (I believe all flagships use UFS2.0 storage now which is quite a bit faster than eMMC 5.1)
- Chinese only warranty through Banggood (1 Year) but it might cost you a pretty penny to send it back and lengthy process (fully anecdotal info)

Please?
