I think Moto G users are quite specific. They just want functional phone good value phone with no show of value! and even without discount Moto Gs are good value for money and discount does not excite Moto G users anymore. That is my very crude guess

Vodaphone allow this, just ask customer services to do it and it shouldn't be a problem

Any reason why this is not getting hotter. Seems a good price compared to elsewhere (£115 Amazon) and unlock code seems to be less than 2 quid.

seems to be some confusion over the amount of RAM in this thing. some are saying 1GB and others 2GB. Can anyone confirm what this voda offering has in it? Moto site suggests 2gb as do several reviews that are definitely for the play and not just the G4.
Voda chat say 2gb if they can be believed

People who bought this from other deal have confirmed its 1gb. If this helps

It's 1GB for the UK, 2GB for the rest of the world.
Read the Motorola UK site, not the US site. Also, all reviews of the G4 Play are from US or Indian sources. Motorola did not provide review units to UK tech sites as they were expecting criticism of the lower RAM amount.

Bizzare how they think the UK only needs 1GB, I would love to know the reasoning behind it.

I was wondering about that, as for example Argos website states that their units are 2GB of RAM...

Phones are no longer for just making calls
If you only want to make calls then this phone is complete overkill.

Here in 2016 phones are not just for making calls.
You should know this, as you've just spent £80 for a smart phone, when you could have spent £20 on a simple phone instead.

Not sure why this is getting voted hot as even budget phones should come with 1.5gb or 2gb ram these days (in all country's). Running the later versions of Android with 1gb is not going to be a pleasant experience.
It's a shame really, as the international version would make a decent entry level.

I do get the 1gb hate but I think as a PHONE 1gb is fine.
I would happily recommend a phone like this over a dumb phone for people who would just call and text and maybe an email app or web browsing or whatsapp. the android UI is very easy to use and the screen real estate means a much more pleasant experience.
as a SMART phone it does fall short with 1gb. I'd imagine
my mum happily has an Alcatel running android 5.1 with a simplified launcher for calls and texts which only has 1gb. she's much more confident with it than she ever was with her older style phones. perhaps she's missing out on the full potential of the phone but you too gives her what she needs.

no. you can turn lock off or you can use smart lock. meaning when at home, for example, it won't lock or when it's still on your body it won't lock (if you wanted)

my battery last suppringsly for a long time. couple of days. but an unfair test! all new phones will do well surely.

I got one of these on delivered Tuesday - it keeps going in and out of stock so if you want one you just need to keep checking back.
Then I saw the Moto G5 for £139.99 on O2, so decided to send this back for a refund. and get that instead.
Jeez, vodafone's call centre is hard to deal with! Took 3 phone calls, over an hour, kept being put on hold and transferred round. It was about the twelfth person I spoke to, a very nice Indian lady, who sorted it out for me......
