The 6p has a massive screen and different processor. So battery life will be different. I've got the 5.5 inch moto g4 with 3000mAh. The battery can easily last a day with moderate use. It depends how you use the phone

All G4 Play variants are 16GB, there is no 8GB variant despite what sites like GSMArena say.
The UK variant; the one in this deal, on Argos, on Amazon...etc has 1GB RAM. It also includes NFC for things like Android Pay and Barclays Contactless.
All other variants of the G4 Play sold in other countries (e.g. US, India) have 2GB RAM and do not include NFC.

As per a few posts up - The camera is crap, the software is buggy and abandoned on its current version, and it's a case of specs over real-life performance. It was great (on paper) for the money at the time but was hoping to get something for around £100 to replace it and hopefully something a bit less cumbersome in size.
I've been on here too many years but the phones of choice on here seem to have focused on the Moto G range in recent years so was hoping it might be a decent swap.

Why? The Smart Ultra 6 is a great phone, and it is certainly a class better than this, with a better screen, more RAM, and a larger battery. The Moto G may have a slightly better software, but the difference is quite small.

Is it the 2015 version? If you or anyone wants to get some life in their G3 I do have cyanogen's backed up firmware and bootloader if anyone needs it. It seems they've kicked the bucket. :disappointed:
I did have the G3 1GB before but it was still slow after factory resets. I upgraded to Moto X Style and the G3 just gathered dust for a few months before I thought about trying cyanogenmod on it and it works brilliantly now, my sister received it as an xmas pressie and has had no complaints. :smiley:

I am really tempted. Had to sell my Galaxy S7 a couple of months ago as I needed money. I am currently using my old Galaxy S2, but the battery life is very very poor. 1GB of ram is plenty if you learn how to close apps you are not using. But then again, how much ram is used by Android OS itself? This might do me for awhile until I get something better.

Personally, for normal use I would say 1GB is enough. Especially since motorola doesn't add bloatware. Don't believe people saying they are rubbish - DONT expect performance of a £300+ phone from a sub £100 phone!!!
My mother and 2 brothers have 1GB RAM moto phones (2 moto e 2nd gen, 1 moto g 1st gen). Both runs great. Even can run normal games on it. And if internal storage extended to a fast microsd, almost no lag or storage issues.

What are you chatting about?, get your facts right. The adopted storage doesn't get round the ram limitation, it only increases storage space by combining onboard storage with external storage.
To say it gets round the ram limitation is misleading to a naive / non tech person, it doesn't, it's a storage feature. Ram is still limited and no way to get round it.

An Android phone with 1GB RAM is adequate, but only with Android 6 (which this phone has). The 'adoptable' storage feature introduced is good to get over the limited RAM limitation, imo. Of course, Not as good as
2GB (or more) native ram, but for a £79 price, it's a good deal, not a great deal

Try clearing the cache (you will not lose any data)
I would use a factory data reset as a last resort as it erases all data including images, apps, files etc. Wiping the cache doesn't remove any of this so it is completely safe.

Not really. You will only notice a difference if the storage is always full on your G2, as this has an extra 8GB. Otherwise the specs are pretty much the same.

No will find out about a factory reset thanks, I don't really have any apps, bank, whatsapp and dominos lol I had the smaller moto g and it seemed so much faster than the 5 inch version but then I have used it for way over a year without doing a reset so hopefully that will sort it

The UK variant; the one in this deal, on Argos, on Amazon...etc has 1GB RAM. It also includes NFC for things like Android Pay and Barclays Contactless.
All other variants of the G4 Play sold in other countries (e.g. US, India) have 2GB RAM and do not include NFC.

I did have the G3 1GB before but it was still slow after factory resets. I upgraded to Moto X Style and the G3 just gathered dust for a few months before I thought about trying cyanogenmod on it and it works brilliantly now, my sister received it as an xmas pressie and has had no complaints. :smiley:

Definitely only 1GB ram I bought one yesterday and as I dont play games on a phone it is fine for me. Annoying that
the ARGOS website states 2GB so I telephoned them and pointed out the error and had them do a search for Motorola XT 1604 which is the ref for this phone and I have just been given a 20% discount, they are sending a check out.
So I am quite happy with this for £80.
Iphone plus models have battery capacity around 2800mAh. Even though OS is different I'm just mentioning it for comparison of battery size.
Motorola say it has 1GB Ram but Argos suggests 2GB?

So, with Android 6, is only 1GB still a serious limitation?
My Android 4.3 tablet lags a lot with 1GB Ram but my S4 Mini phone with 1.5GB seems rather better.
My mother and 2 brothers have 1GB RAM moto phones (2 moto e 2nd gen, 1 moto g 1st gen). Both runs great. Even can run normal games on it. And if internal storage extended to a fast microsd, almost no lag or storage issues.
To say it gets round the ram limitation is misleading to a naive / non tech person, it doesn't, it's a storage feature. Ram is still limited and no way to get round it.

I would use a factory data reset as a last resort as it erases all data including images, apps, files etc. Wiping the cache doesn't remove any of this so it is completely safe.
avoid the play edition, even tho it is cheap, and a good deal, there's always a benefit to more ram with Android.
I have 32gb card but some apps when moved to SD card don't run at all or are ridiculously slow.
or, root your device and install apps2sd
I think they are quite happy to let codes stack on this regularly as they know it's still a bit more than it's worth and yet makes it seem good value.
