price dropped today, I've been watching a few phones recently.
edit: to avoid confusion, this is 2gb ram and 16gb internal memory blah blah
edit: also available for same price at Very but with 10% new account discount. credit vassy4u - check their thread for details
edit: also on Prime Now, I should have used that!!! Credit Argosextra
I've bought from Amazon, partly because I'd pulled the trigger before I was aware of the other deal but mainly because I find Amazon easy to deal with and I'm lazy, especially at Christmas

I ordered the black model on 26th, dispatched on 30th with ETA of 4th Jan but was then notified out for delivery by couriers on 31st and was received.
The phone seems ok and comes with basic charger but no data cable!

The Moto G4 can be turbocharged but only comes with the standard charger unfortunately, so does take many hours to fully charge - it's definitely a phone you'll want to charge overnight !
The official turbocharger can be bought for around £30 but if you go down that route, you might as well get a G4 Plus which has a better camera and a few extra features, plus comes with a turbocharger and only costs around £30-35 more.

Motorola are very slow at security patch updates. Hopefully a Lineage build will be available soon.
Would avoid the p9 lite, no updates and the parent company tends to abandon phones, Google honor 7. P9 lite cpu will not support 3rd party roms just like mediatek cpus, as both companies don't release cpu code etc. Stick to snap dragon cpus if you want to mod later, the moto g has one

Moto G4 was pitted against Iphone5? in old vs new tech on the Gadget show a couple weeks back. Ortis had real problems navigation on foot with the Moto G4, a couple times he was walking in completely the wrong direction! so one to avoid if your wanting to use Viewranger or some kind of navigation software that relies on Compass/Gyro.

meh, google moto g "ghost touch". My last two android phones had this problem, one was a Lenovo 5.5" screen one and the other a Vodafone Ultra Smart 7 again 5.5 inch. The lenovo was perfect for about 8 months then started doing it, became almost unusable and Lenovo support were impossible. Moto is owned by Lenovo now so I'm staying well away from any android 5.5" screen as I believe most if not all have the same common faults due to the internal components manufactured from the same company in China. This is a shame as I have previously owned Moto G 1st gen which was amazing for it's time and lasted 3 years.

I got the G4 Plus for 150 a month ago and I'm very impressed with it. Compared it side to side with my friends S7 and the G4 Plus had a clearer screen, better speaker sound, quicker response, just overall wiped the floor with a phone 200 quid dearer.
Of course we must factor in that my G4 was brand new and he'd had his S7 a while. But still, he sure had a look of regret on his face.

For the sake of £20 i'd get the p9 lite, 3 yr guarantee, 3 months cracked screen cover and other stuff i can't remember right now, brilliant phone.
I also challenge anyone to show the P9 Lite as a comparable deal. You can play the "superior but more expensive" game all day every day.

I bought the Moto G4 dual SIM a few months ago and it has performed very well. Motorola updated Android to 6.0.1 and issued a July security update so well supported. I know some users have reported ghost touch on the screen especially when charging. I did have a problem with ghost touching which developed over time. I found that it went away when I removed the phone from my wallet type case. It may have been a combination of moisture from screen cleaner, contamination, and the plastic case material affecting the edges of the touch screen. May not work in all cases but solved my problem.

Only the white from Amazon is dual sim, but all colours from Motomaker are dual sim.
In Amazon's Q&A it's stated that it's supplied with a standard charger, whilst the one I bought from Motomaker was supplied with a turbo charger.
P.S. Got mine from Motomaker (Black Friday for £133.10) and I'm very happy with it, just hope it lasts longer than my Moto G 2nd gen that was starting to change settings all by itself plus battery charging/life was also going haywire,

Edit - found this on the JL website
We have shops, call centres and a website giving you flexibility in how and when you buy from us. The level of service we offer can't therefore be equalled by online or mail-order only retailers such as Amazon or Play.com - and it's for this reason we don't match their prices. There are also some fitting and installation service conditions we take into account when we look at a price match - see below for details.
