How long have you had it? I had two breville ones and both stopped working properly after maybe a year. Went back to a good old kettle after that

excuse the basic question, but is the water as hot as it would be from a normal kettle and does it keep boiling to keep it instant when you need it ? as this would cost quite a bit.

I believe it's boiled on demand. You click the button, and the set amount of water is moved through the kettle to areas where the elements are turned on to heat the water. It isn't instant either, takes about 15-20 seconds (if it's anything like hot water dispensers i've used). The water isn't always boiling but is hot enough for any drink really.
Just looked on YouTube (Link) to boil 400ml of water it takes about 40 seconds and 30 seconds for 200ml of water (a cup full)

It's boiled on demand, the machines contain a compressor similar to coffee machines that take cold liquid and compress it until it becomes hot within about 20 seconds

Anyone know if variable temperature ones of these exist? Currently I use a temperature adjustable kettle I got from Aldi.
