I have this kit I don't use it as I did exactly what you've said here. Been going strong for 12 months, change them every 4-5 days.

Got son the Elite controller for xmas, is this the best one to get or can someone recommend as a double pack would be handy for his regular controller. Thanks.

The battery in the Microsoft Play and Charge Kit is a measly 1400mAh.
Get a pack of 4xAA 2700mAh rechargeables (£5.99) + Smart Charger (£8.99) from 7dayshop.
Get nearly twice as much playing time between charges, have a pair already charged and waiting to be swapped in when the other pair runs out (no need to hook up a cable to the controller until the pack is charged), and the batteries can be used in other devices.
Plus, it's cheaper.
It's a no-brainer, really.

what about these from game? I would need the twin pack, and £9.99 for two??
I'm just thinking about getting something to go with my sons xmas present. I got a two controller deal.

I use rechargeable Duracell 2500's. Bought a pack of four for around £15 so I always have a spare set and they go for at least a week between charges ( I play most days ) and the previous ones lasted 3-4 years.. Good price on the deal though , heat.

Yeah, I just watched the video and realised, considering it now, although I can see that there were some bundles previously which included controller itself and this for like £35, but time machine is not invented yet as far as I am aware :disappointed:

The official rechargeable battery fits inside the battery compartment and fits all Xbox controllers as you use the original battery cover, unlike third party ones which replace the cover.

That's the way Xbox controller should have been in the first place. Good price though.

Also have the giotek ones which work well. I just got a 2 pack play and charge from Game for £6, see how those fare. Are there any that are compatible with the elite controller? The clips on the battery door are in a different place. I have one rechargeable which isn't built onto a battery door so use that bit would be nice to have a sealed unit without using a hacksaw!
