The cheapest I've seen this on the Microsoft store. A good value reliable phone for making calls and browsing the net. Windows phone so not many apps though.

Wasn't Betamax actually the better quality format? It's just VHS became the winner not because it was better.

Cold, They do not honor the warranty, When you phone in to ask what the reasons for now honoring it they tell you to send an e-mail which they do not respond to. I have personally sent in follow-up e-mails which in turn are not responded to.

If it were android then yes, but It's not really noticeable on a Windows handset. The only place you will notice it is in games.
Personally I think its a great handset, screen is nice, camera is good, build quality is excellent for a phone of this price.

Completely USELESS OS. (I used it for 10 years including predecessor). Absolutely TERRIBLE. Just DON'T go there.
For £80 (plus topup) you could get the Huawei P8 Lite, which has slightly better specs, but doesn't suffer from the CANCEROUS, DEAD OS.

Genuine question as I'm looking for a phone in the price range for a gift, do you know where the Huawei P8 Lite is on sale for that price? Seem to all be around the 150 mark.

I didn't hate it 10 years ago, obviously. When Windows Phone came out it was much better than Android & IOS. Windows Phone 7 and 8 were both great. But then the apps started getting cancelled, and Windows 10's launch was a catastrophe and now it's just a joke.
There's nothing to recommend about this phone.

There was one proper app along with the standard apps i found useful, called flash sports, 79p a month for premier league streaming which was great! If you dont have an array of apps you need to use then this is fine, but for apps its limited! NO SKY GO...that was a killer lol

I needed two of these, the total came to £158.
6% Top Cashback (presumably of the ex vat amount £131.66) which is £7.89
Plus redeemed the £30 off over £100 spend through Amex
Total cost for two ended up being £120.11.
Last week I almost bought them both from Amazon for around £110 each so this is a bargain.

Decent phone if you want to make calls, text, Facebook, messenger, web browse, email.
A grown up mobile.
Decent apps for me are - here drive, i.player, ITV hub etc, deezer, justeat, moliplayer, obd diagnosis, and banking app.
The only thing I miss is the eBay app. And as mentioned you don't get malware etc.

It was the hardware on Betamax and Philips that was supposed to be better but VHS cornered the software market and therefore people were buying the sets that would play the tapes. Sony learnt a big lesson from that.
Windows will not be a competitor unless they up their game with the apps.

Great phone especially for this price.
Windows phone has all the apps I need, some are even better on Windows.
No malware/pop ups/virus crap to worry about.
Doesn't need no Cleaning apps just to keep the phone running smoothly.
I have used Android for a while and ios, and went back to windows phone because I missed so much about it.

Re my earlier post , in video Phillips was a far better quality , then came Betamax , then VHS .
The difference was that VHS flooded all the video rental shops with the largest selection of films , first.
So if you wanted to watch the latest films you had to buy a VHS player and having bought one , were unlikely to then go and buy a Betamax or Phillips..
The same true with mobiles , android has the greatest selection of apps . Windows phones will die out.

Banking, EE, Twitter, one drive, outlook, pdf reader. Did have FB and messenger but don't like FB that much in general. Have tried other apps but prefer using mobile site if anything. Music is stored on memory card

For the price it's hard to find a better phone. Sure there's Android phones for similar (or less) money, but they won't run nearly as well as Android is not as smooth on low end devices. Obviously there's no iPhone alternative anywhere near this price so it's not worth comparing.
The issue as has always been the case for Windows is apps. That said there's still hundreds of thousands and most people will find what they need & when I compare my phone to my iPad, I don't really have anything essential on the iPad that I need on my phone, they are mostly just time-wasters or apps where the website is actually fine and I just use the app for so called convenience.
So for me a £100 Windows Phone is a better option than anything up to at least £300 on Android. Even then I actually prefer the UI, Windows is clean and simple, Android is still clunky and a mess despite years of UI overhauls. I wouldn't recommend it to people if I knew they needed lots of apps or a specific one that's not on Windows (like Snapchat), but in general to people who just need calls, texts, email, browsing, news, weather, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc then really I think something like this is a better option.
I really think the (in my mind mostly misplaced) hatred of MS is a shame as the industry really needs something more than just two choices for phone OS. Android is like a clunky version of Windows XP with ideas stolen from iOS & Microsoft Metro design, and iOS hasn't changed fundamentally since it's inception; just that boring grid of icons. Windows Phone was dynamic, clean and futuristic, such a shame people are resigning it to history and using OS's that actually are stuck in the past design wise.

Look, I like Windows 10 Mobile and this is a decent little phone but..... have you even used an Android device in the last 12 months? Really? Remember that this phone was originally £159 when released and MS are just clearing out stock (they don't sell Lumias any more! I'm sad) so it is not really a sub £100 phone. I would recommend the Moto G4 as a much more useful, easy to use and user friendly device to anyone over the 650.
