I have a daughter, but still used her as an excuse to buy a scalextric this Christmas! lol got. £29.99 one with a loop the loop from Smyth's (apparently down from £59.99) good post, just too late and no loop the loop :-(

Not Scalextric, as in the brand, though (Carrera iirc). I'm not saying it's bad as I don't have experience of it, but the benefit of Scalextric is expansion of the track and buying extra cars and accessories, if wanted - although I appreciate that if you don't, then it is not a benefit!

Yeah ebay prices are pretty steep, but İ suppose you have to pay for nostalgia these days, unless you're lucky at a car boot of course!

the smell of scaletrix reminds me of Christmas morning, for anyone that had never played with one, it smells like electrical burning

I used to have a Matchbox racing set in the early 80's, much better than the full size Skalextric because you can fit loads more track, wish they'd do these Micro ones with bigger tracks.

Oh wow a real blast from my childhood. Banging the top of the controller to spin round and the jump!

holy sweet baby cheeses. I remember having that. I'm a 40 something year old and have spent a few years now remembering toys from my childhood and trying to acquire them in good condition, I have a few but here's another to look out for, thanks :stuck_out_tongue:
