On December 26th at ASDA Fulwood in Preston staff reduced teh left over free range turkeys and goose to.....a pound, yep £1!
Got one of each and people where still unsure whether to buy them!
The best reductions I have ever come across, works out at about 97% off as each was priced at £40.
Looking forward to some big Sunday roasts!

Quite a bit more today. 3 bird roast for £3.50, pigs in blanket and stuffing wreath for a quid, big tray of braised red cabbage for 40p and small chickens for £1.40.

Its Markies, I honestly thought M&S would buy Harrods a few years back, the name alone would have been worth billions and selling the shop off, Harrods Food EXCLUSIVE at Marks & Spencers marketing 'this isnt any old xmas pud, this is a gold shimmer filled Jesus certified Harrods christmas dessert' :smile:

I food shop there as they have more allergen free prepacked food per sq metre than the big anes.

My asthma and health is hyper immune to all the nasties/allergens in 'food' the only cold meat I eat is a joint I cooked and prepped myself to be sliced meat etc etc my education in food stuff is life, NHS and private experts in food.

The fact is everyone eats something their body does not like, most are fortunate to not suffer bad adverse reactions but it is still not good for them.

You probably shouldn't rely on assuming you knowing everything about everything :wink:

HEAT - best thing to do is cook, slice and freeze in bags, cold meat sandwiches for months, cant say HUKD more than that - substitute chicken sandwiches as easy defrosted in a hour per bag.

After my experience in there on Christmas Eve I've concluded that M&S stands for Marley & Scrooge. There were so many unsold non reduced turkeys at closing time (dated 24th-26th December). The security guard was permanently in the turkey aisle because a lot of customers were complaining.

Complaining that they wouldn't reduce stuff? My brother used to work in a supermarket, it was standard procedure to never reduce while the vultures circled. Some would get everything in their basket then bring it to you to insist you put further reductions on, but store policy was only things unattended on shelves got reduced. If too many people got demanding the stock just went out the back and then it was up to the boss what happened to it. They were basically told don't encourage those wanting final reductions because it can stop others buying at the one before.

My local M&S has the majority of xmas stock at full price yesterday, some of the xmas jaffa cakes were half price.

Jam is coloured by manufacturers because it mainly looks like urine because the preservatives - best asking granny to do a pot.

The stock was just left unattended on the shelves, apparently not reduced at all. That is why people were complaining. It was such a shame to see all that food wasted.

no, these are the original pretty selective breeding turkeys that were eaten prior to Bernard Matthews. They are expensive to produce which is why people didn't eat turkey very commonly prior to the modern variant. They do have much more flavour however, and they are free range so you know the bird had a better life than most prior to the inevitable. As with everything, you get what you pay for

It's just one turkey reduced. Rang the store before sending my sister who lives at the back of the store ( Metchely Lane ) to pick one up. I was told it's just one turkey reduced and sister went in to confirmed what was said on the phone.

Green turkey meat is when it has been cooked and left out in the open too long without being refrigerated after cooking and or has been sat in the fridge uncovered for 4/5 days after cooking to which it will begin to turn x
