Amazing concept. Still don't understand it but I'm off on my 4th watching. In summary they are all dead when they die it's not clear hence my 4th watching. Anyone know when they die? Even the lost forums shed no light. Rpp £360 really? Heat from me though.

Surely they all die in the initial plane crash?

Well ... they're all dead in the flashsideways/that alternate timeline in season 6, but many of the characters never die in terms of the ongoing storyline. Characters like Kate, Sawyer, Hurley and Ben - who got off, or chose to stay - are alive at the end of the series. At some point, they die, as everybody does, and join the others who've already died in the flashsideways timeline

If you've never seen it then I'd say buy it. I've watched it twice and fancy a third. Really want it on blu ray so quite tempted.

The die when they die in the show. They survive the initial crash but most die during the course of the show. The island really is magical, what you see happen is real, not imagined. Only after they are dead do they meet up again in a purgatory while they reconcile their differences.
It magic.

That point in a TV show when there are too many seasons to be bothered to start.. I feel this way about Lost.

6 seasons isn't too bad to be fair. It was excellent until season 4 started, but became a bit pathetic after that. There was one episode, the season 5 finale which was incredible though. Still highly recommend it.

Excellent series. People only think the ending was crap and didn't explain things because they didn't understand it.

Not only that, but the show was not sci-fi or something; I don't effin care what the black smoke is or whatever.
Lost was based mainly on solid character development
(unlike Walking Dead for example, which I watch and laugh with all those forced/unnatural twists and turns of character in order to push the action, alienating you from the characters themselves). Lost just happened to have lots of action and lots of mysteries, but mostly it was character emotional portraying, and they did that in exemplary manner.

i stopped after season 3. as it got really pathetic... the finale of season 3 if i remember correctly was there was a radio call to somebody saying they were survivors of a plane crash... can somebody sum up what happened in the remaining seasons? oh yeh i remember something about them having to push a button?

Currently watching through for a second time. 2/3 through series 1.
I was a bit annoyed at the ending some years back but watching through again now it's more about the characters I'd say. Some of them are so tortured I feel for them!
To sum up, enjoying it even more second time around because I'm not obsessing about taking in every detail.

EXACTLY THIS! I try to tell people it was more about the character story and they don't get it. Very emotional show.
