The Dreamliner fleet is the youngest in the world, JFK is notorious for being horrendous to fly in and out of. There's a whole host of reasons airlines pick up delays and won't have any coloration as to the price you pay for your ticket. But by all means, head off to Heathrow and pay a lot more for your seat and pick up the same delay with BA.

Hate pax like you. A first class ticket with Emirates to JFK in bad weather isn't going to make the plane land. Most delays isn't really the airlines fault. If the plane isn't flying, they aren't making money. Companies do not want delays as well.

Cold. Virgin is cheaper return. Plus you get luggage, food (they feed you a lot on that route!), free seating reservation if you're a flying club member and fly from Heathrow which is easier to get for most of the country!

Lol why put the one way price in to make it look better. We obviously need return tickets too

You can get cheap return flights to New York from Oslo. Ryanair flights only like £20 return from Stansted. Not for everyone I know but just a heads up.
buyer beware November 2015, 3 hours 7 minutes delayed outbound December 2016 4 hours 50 minutes delayed inbound home wouldn't fly with them again

You know you can claim for your 4 hour delay though?

I was stranded for 3 nights at Gatwick finally flying out at 4am. Our Norwegian Dreamliner developed a fuel leak and they had nothing for days to fly us out

I wholeheartedly agree with you. I wasn't addressing JFK as a destination or resort, I was addressing it as an airline pilot which I've experienced a 3.5 hour taxi from touchdown to getting on stand.

Flown into JFK several times. Never had a problem except long lines at immigration one time before the automated machines. It's fine.
Besides, it's an airport - you're not going there to stay. If that's the airport you'd have to fly to in order to experience New York, then absolutely fly into JFK and don't give it a second thought. New York, IMHO, is fantastic and worth flying into any airport for.
