Nice mouse, paid £25 for on a Lightning deal in January.

IMHO best, affordable, wireless mouse ever. fast, up to 8200 dpi, lag free, up to 1GHz, lots of programmable buttons - 13, plenty programmable profiles that can be stored on mouse memory. unfortunately it chews battery - about 1-2 days gaming on full charge (1x AA rechargeable battery), but battery can be easily changed with another charged from your battery charger  or mouse can be charged by cable while you continue to play. I'm using previous model (G700) and this one for years, and wouldn't change it for anything else that's on the market today.

Had this has my daily driver until i replaced it with a G502.

Awful battery life in wireless mode, i ended up going back to wired mode I got so fed up and this was with a number of new cells none would last more then 8-10hrs in use and because they moved away from the dock type you had to plug it in which negated the whole point....design flaw tbh

No pinkie rest as such but the grip i used didn't bother me and i liked the surface finish they used despite others not really liking it.

The G502 is now my daily driver at home and i have taken the G700s to work to replace the sh*t one they provided, thumb rest is better but again no pinkie rest like on the older G5 i had to.

Why, it is rechargeable and can be used wired?

Anyway great mouse and Logitech are superb with warranties. I got one free from logitech after my g700 bit the dust and the store I bought it from no longer had it to replace and refused to upgrade me. Called Logitech and they sent one to me within a couple of days.

I've had this mouse for years, best mouse I've ever owned.

Weird that camelcamelcamel shows this as the cheapest price it's been, I bought it for £25 in January (I've not voted cold before anyone makes a crack about time machines).

It is a great mouse, just such a shame that battery life is so awful and it doesn't have bluetooth. I mean I know it's a high end sensor, but choosing a low DPI mode doesn't even help.

CamelCamelCamel doesn't include Lightning deals which was the £25 price in January.

I have a Performance MX and the G602 is my primary use. It tracks every bit as good as any laser I have tried, even on glass. I got tired of charging the MX every week, which you'll also be doing with this.

I have the G602 on the fastest 500hz polling rate, at the highest 2500dpi range and it lasts a good 2 months on a set of rechargeables, with at least 4-5 hours use a day. If it was in eco mode with the lowest 125hz polling rate, I can see it lasting a thousand hours on a set of batteries easily.

I swear by it.

I have had this mouse for 3 years now, software works great in combination with all my other logitech peripherals. I like the design, it's very comfortable and not plastic-y/cheap feeling like the newer logitech gaming mice models. The mouse itself is really well built, and is matte in finish, so no fingerprint issues. Battery life is very poor, I used it as a wired mouse only now. Other than that, no complaints whatsoever, I have even claimed a replacement during the 3 year warranty after one of the buttons became slightly unresponsive, and they posted me a replacement unit within a few days, very impressed. Overall for that price point, I'd highly recommend it.

I have this mouse, has it for a year or two. It's an ok mouse, the buttons on the left hand side are a bit iffy and can stick especially the dpi adjust if you click it off center. Battery life is poor as has been mentioned. My biggest gripe with this or indeed any Logitech I have tried predominantly for gaming is- If you map the mouse wheel left and right click then on using middle mouse i.e. Pressing the wheel in it will intermittently trigger the left or right wheel mapping which is bloody annoying! I think I paid £70 for this mouse so have reluctantly held onto it mainly for the wireless capability but the G502 is far far superior. Having said that I'm on the look out for something not Logitech as although a recognisable name they're just cheap tat!

Great mouse, but can you see three amber leds on its side? You know what they mean...
bodzio0 to faustino
20 Dec 16 1 #32
Amber shows mouse profile you are currently using (max 5)
Red shows your preset dpi level (max 5)
Green - battery level (3,2,1) , but when battery is nearly flat it shows 1 red led and later 1 pulsing red led.

The G602 is better. Mainly because it has all the additional programmable fluff but the sensor is optical so it's battery lasts months even in the highest precision mode used for many hours a day. The precision mode is more than high enough for 99 percent of people.
roycom to vulcanproject
20 Dec 16 #29
Out of the two I prefer the G602, it's also slightly longer than the G700s so feels more comfortable in my hand. I had to use my G700 for 6 weeks while waiting for an RMA on the G602. Was glad when I went back to it. The G700s is great but for me personally, the G602 is better.

for £10 you can buy yourself 800dpi mouse, it sounds like you never played on good gaming mouse before, so it's possible that you can't appreciate high dpi wireless mouse with a lots of programmable buttons :disappointed:
mdrewry
20 Dec 16 #19
Agreed this is the best mouse, despite awful battery life. The reason for me is that the scroll wheel can be pushed left and right and is configurable, so I have left for Back and right for Forward. Later Logitech mice seem to have removed this feature
jfhopkin to mdrewry

For the record, the excellent Logitech G502 has this feature.

Agree with everything said so far. An amazing mouse that is only limited by its shocking battery life. I used to use at work, so 40+ hours a week near constant use. Programmable buttons are perfect when dealing with multiple vapps and visual studio.

In the end I ditched it due to two reasons:
1- shocking battery life. Changing the driver to Economic mode gave me about 4 days use. Default setting was about a day. I have heard that sticking in a zinc based rechargeable battery solves this as they run at 1.5v instead of 1.2v
2- The lack of a pinkie rest became obvious about 500 hours of use in. My little finger would end up being dragged over the mousemat. I only really realised it was an issue when I used a colleagues mouse that had a pinkie rest.

Even at full price, this mouse is great value for money. Over 2000 hours use and it still looks like new. At half price, it is a bargain. Just factor in the need to experiment with batteries.

Pfft. Left/right on the scroll wheel is for close/open tab respectively, top thumb buttons are for previous/next tab, and bottom thumb buttons are for back/forwards =P

Seriously though, it's a great mouse despite the poor battery. The nice thing is you can get a nice soft wire for it anyway and then you won't notice it when charging anyway. I used to use an old kindle cable I had which was supple, great as a mouse wire. The cable that comes with it is pretty stiff.

Anonknowmouse
20 Dec 16 #16
That's the reason I went for a wired gaming mouse. On gaming mice the polling rate is responsible (can maybe under-clock for battery life?!). I don't need 1000hz updates on a 60hz display, as I can't see through time. That means instead of a battery lasting months, it will last days. I think a polling rate twice the refresh rate is fine and it's like DPI or megapixels - past a certain sampling point it makes no difference though most non-geeks believe it does.

I have this mouse and used it for ages. Lovely feel and button placement. Perfect shame too.

Just changed it for a G502 as it has a better sensor and the wireless on this is practically pointless as it needs charging every day. If you've got a laptop it may be different as cords are more of a nuisance.
