Not all phones have IR sensors, yet alone decent ones, certainly my LG G3 IR is nowhere near strong enough to control my devices, I certainly will not be replacing my Logitech Harmony 720 with a phone app anytime soon. For anyone with a home cinema setup they are far from a waste of money.

I have had one for about a year. They are okay, not sure I would recommend. The older harmony remotes were much better I feel.
The menu system is a bit clunky and slow - a bit like a budget android phone.
I am moving to a control 4 system, hopefully that will be a lot better.

Good move, C4 is a great system if installed correctly. It can do a lot more then a harmony remote but also there is a cost involved. :smiley:

I upgraded from the One to the Touch and have now moved on to the Ultimate, each time to me was a step up. From a usage perspective there isn't a huge difference between the One and the Touch, but the touch is smaller as the numpad has been moved from being physical at the bottom to being on the screen. If you use the numpad a lot then it is a bit of a back step, but for me who only uses the numpad about once a week (Can't beat the favourites page for navigating around Sky or Virgin). You also have the difference of the play/pause etc being at the top rather than towards the bottom above the numpad. Some may not like this, some will, I didn't mind it and now with the Ultimate it doesn't bother me at all as I do not have to worry about actually pointing it at the TV/skybox.
The charger is better as it has a smaller footprint being vertical rather than horizontal.
I got the Ultimate for £85 and it is easily worth an extra £20 over the Touch, but you cant get the Ultimate for £85 at the moment. Knowing what I know I would only get the Touch over the Ultimate if I knew I could never get the Ultimate for only a little more, but as I know the Ultimate has been and is likely to be available for a similar price (85) in the future I would hold off and wait.
The main benefit of the Ultimate over the Touch is the fact it is RF rather than IR and has the hub with IR blasters. I am currently in the middle of rearranging my house and have my hub sitting across the room at 90degrees to my equipment and it just works, plus it then also allows BT and IP connectivity so works with the PS4/Wii U and connects to my Roku 2 via IP (a massive bonus as the IR receiver in the Roku is very directionally sensitive).

Got one last year at around this price. Great remote for shortcuts to turn on/off various AV in one go. However the touchscreen is a little unresponsive at times, but that may just be the caused from the dried dribble from the rugrats
