Not sure if this is a good deal or not. Logitec harmony ultimate one.
I was after a universal remote and was considering this.
Any opinions

How am I telling porkies. I took a photo of it on the shelf. What do you want me to do a live video feed of me walking in to the shop to show you. All I can say is there was one box on the shelf with that price tag underneath as per the photo. I didn't buy it just noticed it there and asked on here if its any good?

Ah is that what you're calling an "insider" these days? lol. Mustn't be down with the kids. In that case I did just take my insider out very briefly when I went to the toilet
When all said and done though the Op was just trying to both help someone out and potentially get some advice on whether or not the remote was a decent deal. I don't personally think they were lying and as they're new to posting I'm happy to give them both the benefit of the doubt and a little support - as is the nature of this site.

Can't see the pic, too small, but if it's the ultimate, and not a rebox or similar, that's a bargain.

If as it says it is the Ultimate One, then it is a good universal IR remote. The One doesn't come with the hub like the Ultimate does (so you wouldn't be able to use it for anything that isn't plain old IR) which for a lot of people won't be an issue.
It is not a super cheap price but it is a good price.

Could you give examples?
Ive been using a harmony 700 for years with:
All ir:
-tv
-amp
-apple tv
-htpc usb ir adapter
-sat tv

Sorry the picture ain't great. It is just the ultimate so as you said would not have the hub. I was consider the 650 and then saw this. Now I'm not sure. As see mixed reviews..

If you have an IR enabled smartphone just download 'Peel'.

These remotes are brilliant, take a bit of setting up online finding your devices, but great once done. Mine when selecting TV turns on the TV the sky box and puts the amp on the right channel, then if you choose DVD it turns off sky the DVD player on changes the input on the amp and the TV. My advice is buy one.

Really? I was wondering what besides the 'all remotes in one remote' advantage that it has, is the point of paying for, let's face it.. ANOTHER REMOTE! but that sounds pretty cool :/ tell me more..

Not a patch on a Harmony remote, for one a touch screen remote isn't as tactile as a proper remote, nothing worse than having to unlock a phone and look at the screen just to turn the volume up or down

'Nothing worse' than having to look down at your own hand... How frequently are you changing volume? (1st world problems ay). Peel have also released a notification bar update so you don't need to unlock your screen

Great remote, used it for 2 years, still got some issues but is still the best remote
The other remote does not have a touch screen and sells for about £30 without the Hub.

Relax, maybe your insider needs to taken out once in a while... I'm simply helping anyone wasting their time on this Tesco style wild goose chase. There is zero stock anywhere, no dna sample needed, just some common sense

I will also give the benefit of the doubt as maybe inside information is slightly out as there was only 1 box on the shelf so for some reason maybe stock count was out or whatever but I have no reason to lie. wasn't sure if this was national or not so wondered if anyone else could get hold of them. If when I go back the item is still there I may pick it up if it's gone then hope some one has grabbed a bargain after seeing it on here as still unsure if I really need this or not.

Can confirm it was this price on Boxing Day in Currys Team Valley, had a few in too. I took it to the checkout then decided against it and put it back. Definitely the version minus the hub too.

it's a bit like infotainment systems in cars. touchscreen ones are stupid. audi rotary control system is far better

It's not a lot like infotainment systems in cars. At least not with your example. A touchscreen you can look straight at or a jog dial you've either got to fumble around with or look down at....hmmm...

I have a Logitech hub and can recommend it above a standard ir remote. I found the problem with the activity based ir remote without the hub is that you have to point the ir remote in the direction of the equipment until ALL the commands have been sent, which can be quite a while if you're switching on multiple units and changing inputs etc. The hub is rf to the remote, so the remote doesn't have to be pointing at the devices at all, you just have to make sure the hub ir transmitter is seen by all devices. (Ir extender also possible so it can work in a cupboard)

Thanks for confirming the deal guys. Just waiting for the op to apologise for calling me a lier now.. Ha. I really do fancy a harmony of some description and maybe a hub based one would be favourable due to the position of some of my equipment. I can see my main problem being the wife and her getting use to it thou. I

PS3, PS4 and Wii all use Bluetooth and can be controlled via the Ultimate and hub but not the Ultimate One. The Roku unit I have can be controlled via WiFi rather than IR meaning I can hide the little unit rather than having to have it in line of sight. Then things like Phillips Hue and Alexa can link to the Hub for more control options in the future.

PS3 and PS4 can easily be controlled with a Harmony now If you have a HDMI-CEC enabled TV (most are now) as the TV commands can be sent to control the console.

They also do two remotes for the Hub. I think this one http://www.logitech.com/en-gb/product/harmony-ultimate-one?crid=60 is the one the OP has posted so it is a very good deal.
