It is Sky tv...just with capability for UHD channels.
You can't "legally" watch any uk streaming tv content (ie live tv or catch-up)without a licence.
Netflix, amazon and youtube are about the only things you don't need one for.

B6 Panel is pretty much the same, same picture quality, input lag etc... just not 3d. E6 has better build materials and slightly nicer looking, but essentially paying extra for a £600 sound bar.
It was this price before black Friday and on black Friday (at better retailers than curry's), I'd personally wait til the new year if you want one.

I bought the E6 during Black Friday. It really is a stunning tv! And with minimal differences between the B and E models (sound bar, different SoC and slightly different nit ratings) you'd be getting a great picture quality for this money.

What price deal did you get on Black Friday for the e6?

Does SkyQ actually do live satellite TV? I know it's streaming stuff but it also mentions installation charges etc...
I have no TV license so can't watch live broadcast TV but streaming stuff I can.... Nice find OP. Heat added.

Looks like the warranty is supplied by the retailer which is a concern considering their record(happy to be proven wrong).

Ive had both the B6 and now have the E6 ,theres a clear difference in picture quality on the E6 ,plus much finer calibration control, better SOC makes Streaming etc much faster ,at the prices they are now id take the E6 every time

The SOC on the E (and other models) is different to the B - and some lag measurements on the E are lower than some on the B but there's quite a variation between reports. The different SOC (needing different firmware) seems to mean that the HDR game mode will be released on a different date than the E. The E has 3D but the speakers are below which is annoying if you want the panel as low as poss over a center speaker.
But you really should say "some people believe you get a better IQ on the E" because unlike the other objective differences listed it simply isn't proved - there are panel variations set to set.

No I shouldn't say that ,I don't believe it ,I've seen it ,B6 to E6 in less than 20 min ,so I have actually seen it ,I actually had 2 B6 ,both looked identical ,the E6 IS superior simple as that, the B6 is very good ,but its not an E6

Not 100% true, the tv licence is only required if you're watching live TV, recording a live stream or using BBC iplayer. You can watch any other on demand content (itv, 4od etc) :man:
Yeah I'm in the e6v camp. It will only continue to drop with ces 2017 round the corner. I've got a 5 year old 3D Samsung tv that I never used 3D for as the glasses were to fiddle requiring batteries and sync. Looking forward to using passive 3D.

Actually you can watch catch up tv other than bbc channels. We don't have a tv licence and the kids watch 5 on demand all the time. Before September this year even bbc iplayer was ok without a licence but the outdated bbc changed it.

been trying to get john lewis to price match argos on a similar deal, but they wont as the code is not "publicly available". heres their response
-"As the promotion code you have advised "TV10" is not currently displayed on the Argos website it is not publicly available to all and therefore it can not be used for a price match request."
does anyone know if this code is shown on the currys website? thanks
they're cracking tv's but honestly unless you LOVE your movies/tv shows and/or hugely appreciate the full quality depth of an image then it isn't worth the money to you
truly amazing if you do though

sadly the 10% code is not applicable to this tv, the only code that take money off the OLED55B6V is TV100.
I just need currys to advertise it somewhere :disappointed:
JL are just daft, they must loose out on so much business, as people will just get annoyed and buy from another place. The only reason im holding out on JL is I get an additional 5% (~£100) from JL via NHS cashback card!

Yeah at my work we get 5% JL and also 8% at Currys. Sadly nothing at Richer Sounds which tends to be my choice for TV's.

Hughes priced matched this, not sure who their 5yr warranty is with yet, but don't want the know how boys touching it.
Great tv, but tricky to set up with no manual, got confused how to get freesat HD as there is only one option for live tv which defaults to DTV. I the end, in the tuning section you have to tick satellite to toggle it on,you can't have both.
