Is the LG OLED TV's any good for gaming? It's between this and the Samsung KS7000, mostly use it for gaming any just watching the odd bit of TV now and again.

Google for this TV reviews and you'll find that motion is not as good as non Oled UHD (4K) TV's. I'm not a gamer but if picture is a secondary (By a long way from your comments) consideration I would go with the Samsung..cheaper as well. Buying an Oled when your priority is not principally viewing is, to my mind, a waste of money and of this TV's abilities.

loadsavmoney... you will find that all "approved" retailers offer as standard an LG 5 year warranty. It is only the non approved, typically found online, retailers that can only offer a 1 year warranty.

Why not get Richer Sounds to price match as you get a six year warranty with them.... no brainer.

You get 5 years with Selfridges just click the TELEVISION TAB and it's the first thing they say for all the OLED TV's they sell. Maybe they will put up some more?

actualy i'm not sure if they do
you do get 5 years with currys tho (know how) but if you buy from them make sure the box hasn't been opened, it should be held together with two plastic ties, not selotape (they have a bad habbit of accidentally selling ex-display TVs as new)
Edit: i thought LG did 5 years but after looking into it i think it's just 1

Up there with the Selfridges deal posted earlier, these are pretty keen prices and I haven't seen them cheaper elsewhere for over a month since I started tracking them. Thanks OP.
It may be a general fall for the B6V though as this is two deals in what, a few hours now. Other stores may follow suit post xmas. I'm tempted to hold out for John Lewis or Richer Sounds though for warranty purposes which is why I passed up on the currys deal posted last week. £1600 is a hell of a lot to drop for just 12 months cover. To state the obvious though, extra warranty can be purchased but that just makes it normal price to everywhere else...

My step daughter purchased this TV from Richer Sounds yesterday, she called them this morning and told them about the price being advertised at Selfridges, they refunded her the difference there and then. Just thought I would share some good customer experience.

very tempted. with the £100 off from the voucher code and my 10% employee discount i can get this for £1,575. but the only thing that's stopping me is no 6 year warrany like richers sounds do.

To be honest JL's price match process is inconsistent if they price matched for you over the phone.. I've tried this previously and they have said I need to submit the form and wait for someone to get back to me... I think you were very lucky to get the price match over the phone so well done. I have found that it is better to just buy for the original source if you are getting the same warranty... I think in the case of Selfridges I'd have bought from them (as long as they were offering a 5 year warranty)...
I tried once to price match with Coop but JL refused because the code available was not printed on the website.

Just having a rant about John Lewis price match. Sent request in to price match Selfridges offer for this TV and they took 12 hours to respond, in the meantime Selfridges went out of stock. The system is flawed as they can just wait until an offer goes 'out of stock' and then reply just after this. They were also on watchdog the other night regarding people having problems with the price match. I am beginning to wonder if I should buy from them. Rant over...

Price of this TV at the Co-Op has just increased by £50 and JL won't price match the Selfridges as now out of stock as for JL matching the price of this one at the Co-Op they would add the cost of the 5yr Warranty making it more expensive as JL do not take promotion codes into account, it has to be listed price

similar story here. i have the pioneer 507xd plasma and although i have seen led screens display much sharper images unfortunately they simply do not look real. although with oled this might be about to change. i have a samung tab s (oled 8" screen) and i am blown away.....but it is a small screen and what is it going to like on something like 65". the other thing people need to bear in mind is we are not always going to be viewing hd content. so the question is can content from channels like itv2 , quest tv, etc look even worse on these screen..

According to those same articles Sony will 'Announce' their OLED line up at CES but to be 'Released' last quarter of 2017. Until they are in the market don't expect to see massive drops in OLED.

Rumours are that Sony are just using LG OLED panels, so unless LG produce 49" panels it won't happen.
If the Sony's are going to be affordable then I guess they will use LG 2016 panels, and LG will keep their 2017 panels for themselves which will have higher peak brightness for much better HDR.

Great price but add the 5 year warranty on and it's another £201 I'm hoping JL match the earlier Selfridges offer. I have had two TVs go wrong, luckily purchased through JL and sending them back and getting it sorted was a breeze.
You won't regret buying it from the likes of JL or Richer Sounds until it does go wrong, then you'll be saying never again.
