Great value considering it includes the B&O bundle.

I recently bought a G5 and it's better than I expected. I like the secondary wide angle lens camera, plus replacable battery, which are pretty unique features at the moment.

If I wasn't in contract until march I may have gone for this to get the B&O bundle, and stuck my current G5 on ebay.

yes it's B&O but I don't think anyone sensible would pay £160+ for a set of ear buds. you have to have more cash than sense if you do that. so voted cold as it is last year's phone and it is rather expensive if you work things out. the contract would be around £12/month averaged out (data plans are getting cheaper and cheaper by the year). so that leaves £440 for the phone itself which it's worth that much even consider the add-on and ear buds.

My G4 (Vodafone) purchased in February 2016 went into boot loop two weeks ago. LG repaired it and replaced the main board but getting it unlocked now for other networks is a hassle as imei is not on database.

Am I from the past? Are son_of_london (wtf???) wong_go_wild from the future? A phone released in April 2016 is called "last years phone" 8 months later in December 2016. I must be in a parallel universe with a different calendar.

The deal is good, the phone not so. It would be a long two years with the G5 and it's poor battery life. The method of getting the battery out did not fill me with confidence either. I have had the G2, G3, G4 and briefly the G5. My son still uses the G2 and the Mrs the G4 (which bootlooped, however this was a SD808 issue so nothing to worry about here) but the G5 is right up there with the G3 as a poor smartphone. Hopefully the G6 will be back on form.

the phone is great, as i have upgraded myself and can say that this phone is better than Samsung Note 4.

Received the whole package yesterday and I'm very happy. The phone itself feels very snappy. Coming from a Snapdragon 808 (Nexus 5X), even basics like Youtube and Chrome seem to load up a lot faster.

Screen is great, very bright and no issues with the backlight.

Camera is excellent, maybe not quite as good in low light as the 5X (which is eerily good in low light for the price) but the difference is minor and the G5 is better in every other aspect. For videos it blows the 5X out of the water. The app is also the fastest I've used.

If you're at all interested in gaming it's handled everything I've thrown at it at max settings with 0 issues. I'm fairly sure I'm getting solid 60fps in Dead Trigger 2 on High settings, a game which the 5X struggled with a bit. Also tried Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath and GTA: San Andreas. Both were smooth will all sliders at the max.

The B&O earphones seem excellent so far. They're on par with other earphones I've used in the ~£100 price range. I probably wouldn't recommend them at their RRP but for free I'm very happy with them.

I have slightly mixed feelings about the B&O Hi-Fi Plus. My issues are that the black looks a bit odd against the Silver casing, and since it makes the whole unit longer you can't use standard cases. On the other hand it is definitely an improvement over the internal DAC/Amp. If you're not sure what this is, it bypasses the G5's internals almost completely, taking the binary 1s and 0s from the music file and converting/amplifying them through superior circuitry. I can definitely notice the difference, it's not placebo.

As far as I can tell for the same deal from 3 directly it's £29 upfront + £36 x 24 = £893. If you take off 3 months discount that comes to £785.

If you get the pink one from Mobile Phones Direct it's £4 + £27 x 24 = £652. That's £133 less.

So yes, it's a much much better deal than getting it directly from 3, and that doesn't even account for the fact that this deal includes the Hi-Fi Plus and the B&O headphones.

I've had this phone for few months now and to be honest this phone is epic. Good battery life, nice platform, fast charging and better than the Samsung galaxy s7.

I've used the G5 for a few days now and haven't really found anything particularly wrong with it. I think it had the misfortune of being released shortly after the S7 and comparisons have naturally been drawn. Every negative review seems to end with "yeah it's good, but Galaxy S7," without really giving a clear explanation on why the S7 is better. Overall I don't really buy it. Some reviews have complained that the build quality isn't on par with Samsung, and I have to agree that the S7 does have a slightly more premium feel to it that only Apple can match. However if I hold it in my hand it definitely feels like a flagship phone to me. Also, it's personal preference but I think the S7/edge are smudgefests. The screens always look messy. On top of that I'm much happier with the internal hardware of the G5 over the S7's exxynos.

I haven't had any bootloops however I did have an issue with the notification bar disappearing. I put this down to the gazillion updates I had to perform out of the box and conflicts with apps. If you do get the G5 I'd recommend doing a full reset after performing all updates. Oh, and since Three sell all their phones unlocked you can update to Nougat through LG's software (it doesn't appear to be OTA yet). Other than that one issue it's been plain sailing. Apps don't crash, the OS never hangs, and I can have multiple windows open in the background without an issue. In general use it absolutely flies and is faster than anything I've used before.

Battery life has been fine for me. It definitely drains quicker with the Hi-Fi Plus module attached, but without it it's better than my 5X was. To give you an idea, it's now 10:45 and so far I've watched over an hour of netflix and browsed the internet for another hour. So that's 2 hours of screen time and I'm down to 74%.

I'm with 3 just now, my contract is about to end. can I get this and keep my number?

Purchased an LG G5 almost a month ago and have had some massive wifi problems with the phone, it just randomly turns off and refuses to turn back on for days at a time, even persisting through factory resets. If you do some research this is a pretty common issue, so I wouldn't recommend this phone.
