Are you sure you want 3D? I used mine once and the glasses are now hidden behind the sofa.
I think 3D with current technology has proved to be a dead end.

Is it worth paying £900 extra for 3D and LG quality, over the 65" Hisense?...

i think this is 10 bit panel? is the Hisense an 8 bit panel - would explain the big difference in price
Excellent price for a high end TV of this size and spec, heat.
p.s. this sits immediately below the OLEDs in LG's range.

Thought the hisense k70065 had a 10bit panel?

8 bit + FRC it can process the signal but not display it as a true 10 bit panel (1000 nits).

ok think i agree, it's more than double the price, think i may stick with my Hisense 65" K5510 order for £680..is 10-bit.

10bit relates to the range of colour (to an extent gamut). but more specifically the smooth transition of shades of a colour. NIT is a measure of luminosity. different things. 10bit screens don't guarantee bright screens.
does this unit support HDR? and how it performs on that side. if so then it is a bargain!

3D is dead and died years ago. Not worth buying a TV because of it.

go into a store and look at oled hd and it will blow away the competition. oled hd was even better than the high end 4k sets in store.

£1600 for an IPS panel tv? No. Awful contrast and blacks. The hdr10 and dv are pointless without good foundation
hisense's va panel's will beat these easily

Hmmm wonder why we still have so many 3d movies coming up. Agreed only few are real 3D while rest are all fake with post production conversion to 3D...But still....Must be really old movies given that 3d is dead for years. Lol

Yes it's to do with colour, however the minimum standard for HDR10 peak brightness has to be 1000 nit which this TV sadly doesn't match therefore it isn't a 10 bit tv. The colour gamut on the Hisense isn't broad enough to meet specifications either.

Exactly the same reason why you can get 3D TV's but they don't advertise the 3D option only in small print, Xbox One and PS4 never had release 3D games released on them, even though you can get them on PS3 and 360. Nvidia dropped 3D vision for their graphics cards, Sky 3D moved from a dedicated channel to on demand or online only. Signs its dead to me and has been for a long time otherwise companies wouldn't be trying to sell us 4K and now 4K with HDR.
3D is only good in the cinema at its best not in the home.

that is right. I don't think any hisense HDR meet either the brightness or a wife colour gamut. I don't think the standards require the TV to meet a % of rec2020 as even Samsung/LG/Panasonic etc with UHD HDR etc vary between 50-70% of the latest REC colour

First off major tv manufacturers are cutting down on 3d even on their flagship models. Eg: samsung has comoletely phased out 3d from all thier 2016 line up, While Sony has only 1 top end model that supports 3D (XD93/94) and their flagship model ZD series. This is all the more reason for people like me who like to watch 3D at home to get these new models with 3D support. The next big thing now is OLED and 4K HDR..why do you think OLED and 4K HDR is not advertised in small print? Don't know about Xbox one but ps4 sure has few titles that support 3D like the Trine series and Elite Sniper series, guess you missed them. I have been seeing '3D is dead' caption everywhere for the past few years. But what people don't understand is there are still few others who enjoy Real 3D. Ask anyone who played trine 3 on 3D they will definitely tell you that they wish more games did this.
For people like me Real 3D movies are worth watching from home with family and not just in theaters. Just because the crowd says its dead I don't change my personal preference and I am sure few will agree to that..
Coming back to the deal. It's an awesome price for this set, but its just the Selfridges badge that sets me back.

I have the 55uh950v and the 3D is amazing on it, out of watching a film in 3D or 4K I think the 3D is better, If all 3D TVs looked as good as this TVs 3D it would be what people buy a TV for and still.
I have over 100 3D blu-rays and about 16 4K films at the moment but as new films come out I'm buying both and I still think 3D looks amazing is the better of the 2 at the moment
