It's not really the point if you can tell when watching. No, if you have no other TV as a reference you won't notice, but it's the principle. By buying these TV's, you are giving LG permission to keep making them and essentially lying about the specs. RGBW is NOT true 4K, but essentially we're living in the wild west when it comes to TV specifications. Manufacturers are pretty much allowed to say whatever they want reference 4K and HDR, despite a TV not being either in respect to achieving the required standard to display it. As long as people remain ignorant and keep buying them (ESPECIALLY after they are told) then nothing is going to change. On one hand it's selfish, but on the other it isn't because most people are buying an inferior product and don't even know it. That's the sad part. And for those that do know, even if you say you don't care, you are further contributing to the problem as it is undeniably having an overall negative effect on the industry and how TV's are sold to the consumer.

Been trying to get any real user reviews of this UH661V model... I have read that it needs setting up as out th box it's not set right and colours, etc are way off. Also saw it in RS next to a Samsung and it wasn't as bright as the Sammy. Any thoughts or anyone own one here?

Thanks for this. I'm not in the market for a 4k TV just yet but when I am, hopefully next year, I'll be instatnly dismissing anything with RGBW.

FYI, the LH 50/58UH635 is one of the few LG sets to use a VA panel, so that is worth considering. Only the LG IPS panels will be RGBW.

It looks like RGBW is effectively a 3k TV.
BTW, if you like good quality blacks, then try and stick with VA panels. I have only used plasma TVs, so blacks (and motion handling) are very important to me.
Personally, I am waiting for OLED TVs to get a little cheaper, before I replace my plasma TV.
LCD tech is inherently a poor technology when it comes to image quality (assuming image quality is important to you).

I've just bought this Tv same model but the 49" from Very for £480 in the Black Friday deal got delivered Wednesday, was easy to take out the box and install the stand which is curved fits on my stand just fine.
Set up was easy few selection screens and setting up the wifi etc.
Really like the sound and main smart page were you can pick what u want to watch now tv amazon etc.
I don't have a aerial input only standard sky but the the HD pictures look really good, it's says it's 4K but as I don't have anything to test that I don't know need Sky Q for that ? I did read you get it with some 55" tv's I think 6-12 months sky q included ?
Otherwise good picture easy remote

Invest in a 'SUHD' (Super Ultra High Definition) that's 10 bit.
Investing in anything just 'UHD' - 8 bit or below is the equivalent of getting a 'HD ready'/720p screen 'last generation'.
I.e SUHD is kind of the equivalent of 1080p for 4k.
