Very tempted and great review scores but I don't need the convertible features, can anyone recommend an alternative?

Don't flip it into tablet or tent mode then if you don't need those features! :stuck_out_tongue:

You should give it a chance. Its as intuitive as an ipad/iphone but a proper laptop with keyboard to boot. I have the 900 and most of the time its in tablet mode. Makes for much more leisurely computing.

hp envy 13.3, £649 on hp website but sales advisor told me will be 15% off from boxing day, making it cheaper, also has the benefit of usb c charging.

Great find, nice spec and price, especially for current gen. No discrete graphics but not everyone needs that anyway.

you could extend the desktop to two external monitors using a USB 3 Docking Station, that's my plan. Don't know if they support 4k though

Thanks will have to look and see howxmuxh the guns are but it would be either two HD monitors or a single 4k as of course laptop screen can be used. Hopefully 4k would work... Hopefully a owner who has a 4k TV could confirm ?
Thanks in advance

Bare in mind - Lenovo tend to have horrible aftersales :/. Like, worse than normal.

Very good screen and is fast but s bit heavy and a noisy fan. I recently got 1 from CurrysPCW.

Have tried to see if a BIOS update can fix it? It's possible they might have changed the temp settings for when the fan comes on / goes off / ramps etc. They're normally quite good at fixing stuff like that if enough people complain on their forums.
bought this for £700 from currys two weeks ago :disappointed: *banging my head against the wall :disappointed::disappointed:

Is the surround around the keyboard and track pad aluminium or silver plastic?

If you'd bought it from John Lewis they'd refund the difference...

really not sure what you want to do there. you tried to console him or put more salt to the wound because sounds like the latter

yes it does. it has got a skylake i7. But since this kind of laptop will almost never be used as a workstation, an i5 is perfectly fine for me. and an i5 will save a little bit of battery as well.

Yep but last gen processor & therefore old stock. Possibly other refinements on this the current version
Looks like the sales advisor lied. It's still listed as 649 :disappointed:

Thanks a mil. My own laptop died just before Christmas and I'd been meaning to replace it with something similar. Waking up to this gave me the motivation to just get it done.
