Argos have just reduced this tablet from £119.99 to £99.99. It shows up at the higher price but add it to your basket and the price drops. Available in blue or white and every Argos near me currently has them in stock.
A great 10 inch tablet for the price.

This was the case I purchased from Aliexpress after picking up the A10-70 at the Argos eBay store, if anybody is needing one - looks like it was on a flight from China on the 9th of December, so hopefully it should arrive some time this week.
The screen may be 1280x800, but for a 10 inch tablet that's only 149 pixels per inch (ppi). The original iPad had 132 ppi.
The £50 7 inch Tab 3 appears inferior at 1024x600, but because it's a smaller screen it has a superior 170 ppi.
Factor this in your decision making.

yes it was as looked on that forum that was posted. there was three updates, the first did hang the tablet on boot screen so switched off and went into recovery mode and wiped and fresh install.
then it found another update which was 28 meg in size, then after that it found the one you stated and was around 725meg in size, installed fine.

Bought the white version on Friday and used over the weekend. 2GB ram 16GB memory card. Used it wil 64GB micro SD. Good tablet for the price. Speakers are brilliant very clear and great bass for tablet. Long battery life. Good build. Display, Icons on the home screen look blurry (unclear) but clear display when watching video. Touch screen not very responsive when going in and out of apps. Can’t screen mirror to other devices which is a biggie! Going to return!

Can anybody please let me know the largest memory card you can use in this? Argos state 64GB but with some of their 'facts' not correct, I would like confirmation, also, is there any recommended speed for the card? I've seen a few posts where people have stated after upgrades the speed of the removable card access can affect tablet performance?

I bought two a few weeks ago, and yes they are 2gb ram( got one white and one blue). Nice and fast, no problems with wi-fi at all, nice bright display. Both came with 5.1 android, which I let do the ota update to 6.0, no problems. Only issues to note are the very weak speakers, and the lack of a Cast screen option, which is really really annoying...!

I haven't found this thread confusing at all - the main uncertainty seemed to be whether the A10-30 has 1GB RAM or not because it's advertised in a few reviews/on Argos as 1GB, but it's confirmed to be 2GB.
The A10-70 was mentioned as it was only a few £ more expensive, around £106.89, on Amazon Warehouse (with the 20% off promo, which runs out tomorrow) but there's none left currently. The A10-70 has a better processor, screen, cameras and graphics.
TL;DR: Argos sell the A10-30 which is confirmed to have 2GB RAM, even if it states otherwise.

I'm looking to get a 10" tablet for my son who has autism. He broke his last one so is currently making do with a 7" but I know he prefers the 10". I'm thinking of going for this one but am a bit put off by comments regarding the Wifi dropping out. Obviously for a child with Autism this would be a problem as he gets frustrated easily. What do people think, reliable enough?. Could also do with being able to buy a silicone case to protect it if it gets dropped which is likely at some point. Any help or advice would be very welcome and appreciated.

Is the difference between this one and the A10-70F only the 1920x1200 screen? I can see it has a Mediatek processor which concerns me a bit as I always thought they were inferior (in a lot of budget Chinese phones atm).
Edit: Did a bit of digging myself.
Here's a (slightly Chinglish-language) comparison between the 30 and 70 http://www.wovow.org/new-tablet-lenovo-tab-2-a10-30-review/ "new tablet Lenovo TAB 2 A10-30, and the screen resolution is less, and the processor is not as powerful and voracious (on the battery)." (This article also says the A10-30 has 1GB RAM instead of 2GB - can only assume some early reviewers were sent the wrong specs sheet).
The A10-70 has 8MP/5MP cameras and the A10-30 has 5MP/2MP cameras.
A10-30: "Processor is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 quad-core MSM8909, clocked at 1.1 GHz. It is made according to the standards of the 28-nm process technology and is not very performance, so generally used in low-end models."
GSMarena also says the A10-70 has Android 4.1.1 vs the A10-30's 5.1, not sure about this.
Both have a 7000mAh battery and 16GB internal memory.
Graphics on the A10-30: "the chip is equipped with a Qualcomm Adreno graphics 304, which is its capability, is only slightly ahead of the ARM Mali-400 MP4. The card is characterized by a frequency of 400 MHz and a basic level of performance."

I left mine to charge and kept periodically checking for updates. Kept getting the 'network' error until magically it decided that an update was available. Have since updated to Marshmallow and all working fine. Just a theory but when I tried to do a factory re-set earlier in the day (from sheer frustration with the netowrk error) it said it wouldn't re-set unless it was at least 50% charged so wondering if same applied for the update even though it was plugged in all the time at the mains...

I heard many times people think it is rubbish but is due to them adopting SD storage and using a slow card without knowing what they are doing or because of some stupid manufacturer tinkering switches off features. It brings nothing but better security, battery life (if hardware supported) for Doze and better notification control along with app specific permissions settings. Currently running Android 7.1.1 on my phone with no issues and was previously stock marshmallow.

It will be the card slowing the device down. Android 6 adds adoptive storage which while a great idea also means the device will read and write at the speed of the slowest memory which off course will be the sd card rather than the internal memory. Buy a better card and you will notice the difference.

Just bought one of these today, seems pretty quick, its a nice size, and not too heavy. Argos are doing an offer at the moment where you can get a Lenovo case with £8.32 off the normal price, if you buy it at the same time as the tablet. Case also comes with a screen protector. Worth it if you like to protect your gadgets straight away.

I have the official case and in my opinion it has a serious design floor, if you try to use it in any position apart from almost vertical it just slides flat on the table.
I also have the official case for a Lenovo A8 and that one has a cut out to stop it falling down so it looks like they are aware of the issue.

I went for the Asus yesterday, thinking I had missed out on this lenovo price the first time it came around.
After reading some of the comments about the lenovo, I will be sticking with the Asus.
I believe the specs are slightly better in the lenovo so one can shout a bit more about that however, when it comes down to it, I don't think there will be a huge amount of noticeable difference in speed.
Mine will be used primarily for catch up TV. I'm confident the Asus will be good for all as there were some issues with the lenovo and licensing for some channels?

In my experience that's not just a Samsung issue. They all slow up after a while and then a factory reset is the only way to speed thing's up again.

You've compared the wrong tabs :smirk:
Screen and Processor on the Galaxy is so much better. I just bought the same tab as yourself and I'm pleased I did, I'm not sitting here thinking dam I should have gone for this one
The WI-FI is terrible on this tablet it has a mind of it's own, after waiting month's for an update they finally release it and they actually put out out the wrong version for the tablet !!! They have since taken it down (after leaving it up for about a week) and don't ever expect an answer if you contact them they simply don't answer.
Currently getting the message "Network connection failed" every time I press System Update despite the fact it is currently letting me online.

Just picked one up from Argos today and I get the same message every time I check for an update even though the wifi is working fine and I can download apps, surf etc. It's currently running 5.1.1
Has anyone else who has just bought one tried to check the system update and received the same error message please?
Don't get too excited - previously sold by Argos for £98.99.

Got one of the blue ones last time. 2gb ram and rest of specs okay for the price. Particularly like the quality of the sound with the built in twin speakers and dolby. Resolution could be a bit better but still fine to read digital magazines and books on. I have played a few android 3d games on it as well with no probs. Had no reliability issues with it so far. With the last Android update it changed the way the SD card works. Instead of it being a “portable” SD card that you could remove, it is now part of the internal storage and does not appear as an external SD card. So you need to have a fast SD card. Not sure if you can turn this feature off. I guess if you have a slow SD card then it might slow the tablet down. Other techies would know more about this. So overall I am pleased with it. It would be good if they upgraded Android to the latest but probably not in their interest to do so. Still I have the Nexus 7 92013) and Google are not upgrading that either.

It gives the option format as a portable sd or as internal storage although I read it doesn't add to the storage but replaces it so if you have a 32gb sd card you now have 32gb of storage.

The confusion arises from that fact that it used to be sold with 1gb, however it definitely is 2gb as my wife has one purchased from Argos fairly recently. Argos have confirmed this themselves in the q&a on their site if you go past the first few questions - initially they had it as 1gb because that was the specs originally, but they confirm it is 2gb now as per the specs on the page.

Very similar specs of this one and ASUS ZenPad Z300M 10.1 posted here yesterday.... Only difference I can see is ASUS comes with Marshmallow and Lenovo comes with 5.1 which I think one should be able to update to Marshmallow?? ASUS is a little lighter in weight and microsd support is upto 128GB compare to 64GB on Lenovo...

I have this tablet:
Prior to the 6.0.1 update the battery was astonishingly good. Since middle of november (update) the battery is about 70% as effective as it was, it's still good, but where as I could leave the tablet for a week and it would lose about 3-4% just idling, it now loses about 10%. Can play about 6-7 hours of video before recharge.
It's ok for basic games but does slow down after an hour or so.
Perfectly fine for browsing and social media. Camera is ok, nothing special, but what do you expect for a £100 tablet. Build quality feels good, the tablet feels heavy in the hand which I like.
Bluetooth/Wireless work fine. I've got a 32gb SD Card in with music and films on, picks it up without a problem.

The £50 7 inch Tab 3 appears inferior at 1024x600, but because it's a smaller screen it has a superior 170 ppi.

The price for the A10-70 has went up since I and other HUKDers ordered, unfortunately (though I think the lower price was for the Blue, not the White linked here) https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B01127C2OQ/ref=dp_olp_used

A10-70F F is the Wi-Fi model: Mediatek MT8165 - Wi-Fi model Quad-core 1.7 GHz from http://www.gsmarena.com/lenovo_tab_2_a10_70-7089.php
Graphics A10-70: "Mali-T760 - chipset upper middle class in power" from here: http://www.wovow.org/review-tablet-lenovo-tab-2-a10-70/

There seems to be no Cyanogenmod for any Lenovo product either.
my daughter's not allowed to take the iPad to school - she goes by train - but will be allowed to take this, should help get a bit more homework done is the fond hope lol - FGW have rolled out free wifi
I rooted mine with kingroot and then removed the root and also done a factory reset but the update still tells me I'm rooted even though I'm not and also confirmed by root testing apps.
Not sure if you can manually update it, I've not read up on it.
I also have the official case for a Lenovo A8 and that one has a cut out to stop it falling down so it looks like they are aware of the issue.
