Yes, pay the extra £30 and get the 8", 16GB model with double the RAM.
Android works far better with 2GB+.

1GB RAM and only 8GB System Storage is going to be a bit of a nightmare for anything that isn't basic browsing truth be told. You'd be better off paying more for a model with better spec imo.

I got one for my 9 year old. He loves it. Only 8gb but if you get a cheap sd card some games can be moved to it. Re the comments saying spend £30 more for 2GB it's not worth it for a child's tablet in my view.
BTW I posted this deal months ago, been this price ever since.

John lewis are selling the 16gb for £10 more with a 2 year guarantee. I've bought 2 but am returning them tomorrow as I thought they were a bit too plastic looking for me. Good price though.

Have this and it's a cracking device. Can't recommend enough for browsing etc. Less buggy than the iPad 2 my sister has...
The only thing I'd say is make sure you want 7" rather than 10" version

I should think so as the iPad 2 must be about 7 years old by now.

Looking for something to replace my old nexus 2012 - would this be much better or about the same?

This will be a little faster but I'd very strongly recommend you go for the one with 2GB of RAM for £30 more. 2GB of RAM makes all the difference.

Very tempting. If I'm lucky to win an Argos voucher I'll use it towards this.

1gb of ram and 8gb of storage is inadequate for Android devices these days and you'll find yourself constantly managing your tablet instead of actually using it. Cold at any price.

expanded memory is there so this isnt an issue too much.
the ram might cause slowdown on more graphically intense apps or when lots of things are being used. probably suitable for angry birds or the poketmings or whatever the kids are playing these days

On the ebay listing this came up on mine "Spend 25 pounds & Save 10%, Code at checkout:CEBAYARGOS" code works for me, well it takes the money off at checkout, assume it isn't account specific. Hope that helps someone!

8GB storage is a bonus in a LeNoGo, less to lose when the drive fails & it'll probably fail faster than you can fill it.

why so exited? 1gb ram,low resolution,more expensive than fire 7",less storage 8 gb... ??!?!?!?!

So honest opinion peeps. For general browsing YouTube and possibly watching a couple of films will this do the job?

For general web browsing, maybe. Depends on what you want to do. If you want to open multiple tabs or visit websites that are heavily formatted, forget it with 1GB of RAM.
For YouTube and films, yes it'll work fine.
Remember the screen resolution of this is 1024x600 whereas the 8" model with double the RAM for £30 more has 1280x800 (HD) resolution.
If you can afford it, get the one that costs £30 more!

I'm probably not going for either to be honest. It's more an idea for someone else

This tablet is horrendous. I bought it for my son for his birthday. He can only run two apps then the system memory takes up 6.6gb . Got a 16gb memory card and no apps will work if moved to the sd card - that's if it will even let you move it to there.
Sd cards are basically for photos and videos . If you want to be able to have more than two apps, get a tablet with a bigger internal memory.
It is fine for just browsing though, as said previously.
