can anyone help me please, is this a good laptop, fast, reliable etc? I just need internet access and to use for uploading photos etc, nothing else. Really need to buy one as using my work laptop all the time but dont want to spend too much, basic needs.

Just check if the screen size is large enough to read comfortably. If it is, these atom machines are better than you might expect.

Fast is subjective and Lenovo calls it a 'laptop', it certainly can sit on your lap. I guess maybe an HP Stream 13/14 might be a better bet?
I managed to snag an Acer Aspire Switch 10 V LTE for £99 new last night, which is basically the same spec though.

Mayhaps but you have to be pretty generous to call an atom fast. Even Chromebooks usually get celerons. That acer sounds more interesting price level.

Well, I would agree that £100 is a more realistic price point. But you do know that Celerons, Pentiums and Atoms all share the same silicon and core design? The modern ones are Bay Trail or Cherry Trail with different TDPs.
I had a play with a Chromebook the other day, that ultra-lightweight OS makes it fly on low-end hardware.
My mistake it is a grade A+ refurb with 12m warranty but still a bargain price.

We bought this earlier this year for £129 if i recall ....and I think an honest review is needed here before you jump in and buy it. Do I like it ? .........No not really ...but I think for the money it does enough ....it does what we got it for ...we use it for films on long journeys ....the touch screen is leaps and yards apart from an ipad ....but also leaps apart price wise.
My toddler jumps up and down on it ...it still works ...he can navigate and play games but the app store on it is frustrating to use in my opinion and he still always wants my ipohone. ....its made me hugely thankful I didn't chuck £350+ away on anything better, but it shows it is a resilient little kit.
I think it is good to take away on a train for example and do a bit of work, Kodi works great on it and it has 4-5 films on the hard drive and with the usb port makes plugging in a memory stick / box easy...although this can only be done with keyboard attached. I think the keyboard is very good quality.
So to summarise ...you do get what you pay for ..... if you use it for more than the above I would consider forking out a bit more ...but if its for a toddler to jump on and watch Jurassic park and play jigsaws then this is for you lol

That makes them sound a lot more similar than they are though. It's not quite just tdp there's more bells and whistles as you go up the chain. The decoding is of note for video playback anyway.
f the memory stick /external hard drives we use only work with the keyboard in ...but then ours do have a larger usb not the micro usb :smiley:

It is fast for what the person wants to do. coming in like a bull in a China shop stating something isn't fast just because it isn't for what you want it to do doesn't help the person choose. With an eMMC it will be a quick machine. The processor isn't needed for anything intensive and thus has no factor in it.
Moving photos to and from the eMMC will be quite fast. Therefore this is a good option and a good price for the person who actually asked. of course it isn't for everybody but that's why you have so many different choices with different specs. There's something for everybody.

32GB is positively ridiculous for a Windows 10 machine. Win10 must take up at least 12GB of that and it grows and grows after that after it accumulates junk during usage. 2GB RAM is going to result in woeful performance as well. No USB3.0 so you can't even plug in a fast 128GB USB3.0 nano drive to use as storage.1280 x 800 screen resolution as well.
This laptop doesn't represent money saved, it represents £150 wasted unless all you want to do is browse the web and send a few emails.
Yeah whatever. I've two atom Windows tablets with emmc they remain anything but fast. Nor is it that good a price as we've seen better models for considerably lower prices.

Again and it doesn't seem to be sinking in. 'Fast' is relative to what you want it to do. if it's for simply browsing and moving storage between the eMMC then it will be fast, especially for the price.

I'm really not sure what people are expecting for £150. So typical of the fools on the site. Something cheap but adequate for what somebody wants to do and they're told to spend a bit more to achieve something higher. if that something higher is posted then somebody will tell them to spend a bit more for something higher.
The reason we have different specs and different price points is that people use computers for different things and there's no point spending £300 on something if the things at £150 meet your needs.
I advised a work friend to buy the Linx 10 deal for £99. His girlfriend was told in her work that it's slow. I told him that it's not slow for what you told me it was needed for. After much debate between the friend and girlfriend they bought it. She's now very happy with it. They are basic users so now point spending more than that. People give the wrong advice based on their own usage. You're one of those.

I agree with a lot of Tommy's comments too, in that it purely comes down to what you will use your Device for, etc?.
If simple browsing, and emailing, then I personally don't see the point of spending £500+ for just that?, or do I see the need to spend even £300+ for the exact same basic PC needs?.
A £50-£200 top's Tablet to Chrome Book to Note Book to bog standard Laptop is more than sufficient plenty for just those simple things?
As for your ASUS, aka ASUS Transformer comment, are those thing's on average £200+?, and geared towards more than just your average 'Surfer Dude' like?, or ..... (a slightly different plato to that of the OP's above Deal?, lol) hehehehe. :-)

One use case where I found the Windows tablet helped me was having full Outlook with all my emails available on a long flight.
This was possible because the tablet uses a USB charger cable, and so a strong powerbank meant I was able to use it for a long time comfortably as well as have full Outlook functionality.
