hi, any one who has this know if the pad stops lighting up when not playing? we aren't playing the game but the pad light issue still on. I don't want to have to keep unplugging it after playing.

The pad lighting should stop once you close the game. Maybe try closing the game and not just minimising it? See if that helps.
EDIT: That's how it works on PS4 at least.

Aaargh!! Santa with a little help from Argos (£50) brought my son the Xbox version for Christmas. After building the portal put the disc in to install only to find it was faulty. So we visited Santa's depot at Argos for a return (refund as none in stock) and quickly went to Toys R Us to whip in and hide a new purchase £55. So really don't want to hear about it being £20 as did a U turn in the carpark of a humongous Asda on the way to getting to Toys R U as I got lost on the way there!.
