If in stock instore at Tesco it will be at 1/3 off, so £19 or thereabouts - it was online a couple of days ago at that price as well, might come back in stock by end of promotion tomorrow?

Yeah I see that it is not currently available online at that price, it just says this product is currently unavailable. Could be worth a look if you have a Tesco close by, unfortunately I don't.

10654 at TRU is probably a better deal on a large box of Lego at present - £34.99 for 1600 bricks (rrp £50) vs 10698 790 bricks at £29.99 (rrp £35).
That looks a good deal but I prefer the Lego box that this appears to come in as apposed to the carboard box of this set, as it is an xmas present.
I am not a Lego aficionado so there may be more sets out there, this was the cheapest I could see this box for that was currently available at the time of posting.

10654 has no wheels, tyres, doors or windows it's just bricks so it depends on what a person needs/wants.

This was £27.99 and 3 for 2 at Tesco and probably £19 now. The box is flimsy, lid doesn't fix on, it's just for show really.
I would seek out a 1kg lot of random Lego on eBay.

This is (was) the cheapest price for this box at time of posting. Not currently available online at Tesco, at £19 or in a 3 for 2.
I am purchasing as a present so this box suits me better, thanks.

Your choice but just letting other HUKD'ers know that this is a really bad price and has been almost half this very recently. The "well it's not that price now" really gets my goat! So what does it matter if it's not that price now, the point is this is close to double what it has been and so is very poor value. It's fair comment to let other users know. The bottom line is that, with some exceptions, anyone shopping for Lego should have done so 1-2 months ago when all the mega-cheap deals were on, a good thing to bear in mind for 2017. Hope I've helped.

PS ASDA George have the equivalent new version (this is a 2015 version) for £15 going in and out of stock.

But your comment doesn't help anyone wanting this NOW, as this IS the cheapest this item is available for. I couldn't care less if this box was 99p at some point in the last millenia, I need it now in time for Christmas.
By all means if it is cheaper somewhere else that IS guaranteed available then crack on, post away. People who might want to buy this at this time don't really have the luxury of waiting to see if it comes back into stock somewhere.
But, thanks for your help!

So you want to be posting on lastminutechristmaspresentatanyprice.com, not hotukdeals.com :smirk:

Now that is an idea for a website. I'd use it every year. Still to get about 90% of my presents this year. Plenty time, who cares about price

It's funny I've looked at a box on Tesco but there's no description to say how many blocks they hold. It's a pain trying to figure out a block set that's an ok price:/

It should say in the description. Or depending on what pictures are available it states on the back of the box how many pieces come in each box so you may be able to zoom in. Also, if you type the box number into Google I imagine you will be able to find out what each different box comes with.

The reason why it's expensive at all the other places is because, as I think I might already have said, this is an old-range box so is gradually going out of stock and places ramp the prices up on retiring Lego even if it is these boxes.
If you are mad enough to pay virtually double the price it has been recently then that's up to you. Best wishes.
Opening post
Tesco £34.99
Amazon £34.50
***** Toys R Us £29.99 *****
Been having a look recently for a large box of Lego and this seems to be the cheapest around currently.
Looking back on HUKD it has previously been cheaper but not recently.
Some other current prices for the same box;
Amazon - £42.97
Tesco - £34.95
Very - £32.99
Debenhams - £31.50
