Is this anything like Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum? It looks darker.

Captain Morgan is better by far.

Bought the 1ltr bottle yesterday and am drinking it now with Pepsi. Definitely closer to a proper full bodied rum with a strong but not overpowering flavour. Couldn't quite drink it straight like I can Captain Morgans but a nice different taste experience. Still prefer Captain Morgans but I don't really consider CM a proper rum.

Love this stuff. I was told that the 1 litre bottles are on offer tomorrow. Quite a regular deal, £23 normally.

Great value. This is better than the mainstream rums like Morgans. Add ginger beer and a squeeze of fresh lime for an amazing drink

I bought a litre bottle at Frankfurt airport today. Worked out £19 with a discount voucher. What's interesting is that it's 47% alcohol compared to the 37% version sold in the U.K. Anyone knows why the UK version is weaker?

Probably some H&S or tax reason. The 1ltr bottle I have says 40% ABV (Amazon deal yesterday).
The UK always gets shorted, we get stuck with mainly 440ml beer cans where as if you go ROI almost all are 500ml, we seem to tolerate paying more for less.
