For those buying as a gift note the following:
This item's packaging will indicate what is inside. To cover it, select Dispatch in Amazon box on the checkout page.
So unless you select dispatch in Amazon box it is quite likely that Amazon will just slap a label on the Kmix box and send it out like that so if you are buying it as a present for someone and want to disguise what's inside then select the dispatch in Amazon box on final checkout page (where you confirm to buy).

Thanks for the updates. We don't have prime at the moment but ours is out for delivery today. Looking forward to getting it + the extra attachment!

I forgot to ask if it did....meant to ask as the more recent models don't and you have to buy it separately so I was keeping my little paws crossed that it came with this model (read some of the reviews which said it did) as it was part of my reason for me buying the machine as although I already have one when I worked out the cost of buying all the accessories then I may as well buy the machine at the price Amazon was selling...put it this way the bowl is usually around £60 although Debenhams had it on offer for £35 recently, the flexible creaming beater can range in price from £25-£35 so say that's £70 already without taking the splashguard, dough hook, whisk and K Beater into account....I use the Flexible creaming beater the most out of all the attachments as it's fantastic for making sponges so well chuffed there's one included with the machine as was looking to buy a new one anyway
I'm happy to report that the mixer comes with 5 years warranty. It feels like very good quality. I'm very happy with my purchase.

So glad you're happy with it and thanks for updating us about the guarantee...thought it did but as I said I wasn't 100% sure...used my one (not the one from the lightning deal as even though I have prime it'll take a bit of time to get to me due to my location) all day Saturday making 12 sponges, some shortbread and some pastry and am still as impressed with it as the day I got it...makes light work of all the baking tasks I've thrown at it over the past year and it's certainly a lot easier than using a hand mixer

Bagged one earlier thanks op , why do people prefer the steel bowl over the glass?
tiggerloveslife to dappodan1
16 Dec 162#47
Not 100% sure but there are a few reasons I can think of....
1) The glass bowl is actually really heavy compared to the steel bowl...I know as I have both and to be honest the steel one is easier for lifting and pouring ingredients out of as it is a lot lot lighter...however the glass one lets you see at a glance from the outside whether all your ingredients are mixed properly....
2) Although it's made out of a thick glass it would be easier to break or chip the glass one...have discovered from my own personal experience the steel one tends to bounce on carpet if you drop it....somehow I don't think the glass one would do the same...lol...in saying that if you dented the steel one then some of the tools probably wouldn't work with it as (apart from the dough hook) they are designed to "scrape" the inside of the bowl.
3) Some people seemed to have some kind of issue with the glass bowls getting "stuck" in the machine and the amount of force needed to remove them resulted in breaking them...not quite sure of all the details of this so can't comment any further.
As I say I have both the glass and the stainless steel one....I would definitely favour the stainless steel one over the glass if I'm making dough due to the length of time the machine has to "mix" it as must admit I've found it quite hard at times to remove the stainless steel one after the dough has taken a good pounding as it seems to push the bowl quite hard into the part at the bottom which holds the bowl so don't think I'd risk the glass one for this. However would favour the glass one if I'm making a cake as you can clearly see when all the ingredients are properly mixed...
Hope this has been of some help although I suspect I'm more likely to have bored you to death :stuck_out_tongue:

Ah glad it's not just my internet connection then...had been waiting for ages for the pages to load and then got the internal server error page....couldn't even get the normal kenwood website to load as I was trying to check the retail price of the attachments...know the bowl is usually around £60 but picked up one from Debenhams a few weeks ago for £35 which was an incredibly cheap price at the time....admittedly it is now going back as decided to go for one of these as will keep all the attachments and bowl and probably sell the machine to someone as Sackboy1 suggested

After you purchase it the price will show as £195 as that is the price amazon used to sell it before this promotion. Since you are allowed to buy only 1 at this price, it will revert to the normal price.

Amazon shows the discount on the last page of checkout...should say Promotion -£76.00 on the summary on last page prior to paying...you can also only buy one per customer so if you've already bought one on your account for £119.99 you cant buy another one at the same price on your account...but you can buy another one on someone else's
Still available...62% gone but really can't see the deal lasting very long at this price...never seen it as low...thought I got a good buy @ £180 last year....I got one with the stainless steel bowl for this price....the ones with glass bowls were more expensive at the time but lowest price I've seen ones with a glass bowl is £149.99...Tesco and Amazon...
tiggerloveslife
16 Dec 16#21
Can't seem to get onto the Kenwood website to check if 5 year guarantee still applies...keep getting an internal server error message...know the one I bought said free 5 year guarantee on outside of box.

Found the exact model on John Lewis website and it is actually 249.95 and has 5 years warranty. I will see if I can get the 5 years warranty if purchase from Amazon.
tiggerloveslife
16 Dec 16#15
Must admit I'm really tempted to buy another one as would be really useful to have a spare bowl and spare attachments and working out the cost of buying all the attachments and bowl separately then the machine itself would be a negligible amount at this price.
Sackboy1 to tiggerloveslife
16 Dec 161#16
I'm sure you could sell the unwanted machine to someone who already has all the attachments but broke their machine?

Kenwood were offering a 5 year guarantee as standard for quite a long time regardless of which retailer you bought it from...I bought mine over a year ago and it had a standard 5 year guarantee but not 100% sure if this still applies to all retailers
