In our case we have 4 tiled bathrooms, 3 glass shower screens, some large mirror/glass wardrobes and several large windows.
The Mrs seems very happy with it having previously gone the route you suggest. We live in a hard water area, so just using this to mop up the tiles/screen after a shower saves a lot of hassle and does a better job of avoiding residual water marks then cloth/squeegee/sponge.

The issue with a squeegee is that it just moves the water around the window, to the bottom, down the sill and potentially down the wall. This removes it and stops the dirty water leaving marks

Condensation on windows, you would probably be better off finding the excess source of humidity in the house and fixing it. Like better extractor in bathroom/kitchen or stop drying clothes on radiators is another popular one.

What if the building was built in the late 1800's out of Cotswold stone and you don't own the place so you cant do anything about the fact it's damp. Also you don't dry indoors, have had all the leaks fixed, run a dehumidifier and still get condensation on the windows when its' cold out? This is a great solution, the other being move house. If people have a use for the product and find it useful, who are you to tell them they wasted their money?

16 Dec 161#31
I wasn't telling anyone they are wasting their money, only suggesting that where possible finding the cause of the problem and fixing it would be better as condensation on windows (other than old single glazed) suggests there is a higher level of humidity in the house than there should be and that may be causing other problems as well such as damp smelling clothes and books. Clearly you are not in a position to fix the problem but others will be.

These are great once you get the hang of them - only trouble is that in my exprience they are unreliable.
I am on my 4th one now - one replacement by Currys and two a year later by Karcher - Karcher were kind enough to upgrade me to a WV5 - the first WV5 lasted 10 minutes before the motor jammed. Make sure you keep your receipt!

Buy it with your heart, justify it with your head.
A squeegee and a rag to mop the excess water is the sensible option. I borrowed a Karcher for a month or so to see if I needed one. Reverting to squeegee and rag was a relief. Didn't need to store and charge this relative monster.
Just my view / experience.

I have the WV50 and it is just over 2 years old and I am not sure if this is a newer or older model to the WV2... Did not use it over the summer and tried when the condensation in the bathroom was causing mould.
Tried charging the unit and the LED was flashing red very fast (instead of a continuous red). So it stopped charging and does not charge now. I contacted Karcher directly to say what the problem was and I pretty much got a response from the Senior Support Administrator "I cannot help you, goodbye". I asked for a contact or a FAQ on what may be the cause and she said she was not technically trained so cannot help or direct me to someone/place to diagnose it.
I checked Youtube and the only video shows a guy dismantling it for the same reason because his motor was a bit stuck and sprayed WD40. I did the same and nothing... the fan was working fine so I think the battery must be fully discharged.. Not sure what else I can do apart from buy another one or go for the squeegee and rag option.

Tempted to buy one of these for my dad. I'm thinking it might come in handy with his VW Caravelle.....any good??
Saying 'fix the source of condensation' is pretty naive, in that case when i go to sleep tonight i'll try not to breath, and maybe i'll ask jack frost to get lost so my windows don't go cold and condense the water vapour that i exhale. This certainly isn't 'pointless' and the solution of buying a squeegee for half the price.. when in that case you could spend 15 quid more and save a lot of time and hassle by buying this. It really is sound and takes the effort out of cleaning windows. Removing any damp from windows or tiles will also reduce the chance of mould growing

Hot to take it to a deserved 1000.
Excellent engineering design, high quality, low price, solves a problem for lots of people. If you only have a small window in a basement flat, then this may be of little use, but if you have lots of windows, an ageing conservatory with poor double glazing, original sash windows (even with secondary double glazing), then these things are a massive time saver on cold days like today. I've had one for 3/4 years now, paid hell of a lot more than the current offer, and still think i got a bargain. Time to mop up the condensation off the windows in winter has gone from about 45 minutes to about 15 (with much of that time emptying about 5 times).

There is one tiny drawback though - the battery in my WV2 has died after two winters and we only need use this kit in winter. However maybe it is just because we are unlucky. Need to find a replacement battery now...
