Actually they are a good company but you need to contact as senior mgt as possible (not get fobbed off by junior guy in CS), I got mine for the original price after a small complaint and they honoured the deal, well done Laptopsdirect

Order 2 pairs for a good 16GB upgrade.
Recieved an email last night say they canceled my order.
and it was due to payment problems (got paypal conformation the transaction had gone through) or i canceled my order, which i didnt.
Sound like a well dodge company to me. I will remember them in future and avoid. and they will get a freezing vote from me.

I called them and complained, and told them i had ordered another matching 8gb stick, which will likely be no good now, they said i would have to pay the new price, so i had to really, so paid the extra, lo and behold 1 hr later they canceled it again, and said i would have to pay a newer higher price! told them to stuff it, and to give me all my money back. have to wait 3-4 days for it.
They will never get my business again.

They canceled my order! took my money, and said they don't have it, but they are still advertising them at a higher price, so they do have them!

they are indeed cheats, not that they have any obligation to sell @ a mistaken price
but they should not have lied to us, that's disgraceful

Was anyone successful?

they don't swallow the price difference, ie they could easily swap for 2x 8GB sticks (ie not a kit) but would then charge the difference
cancellation the only choice

Thanks, ordered them, tried to get the odd 8gb to fill it up, but that was nearly the same price as the pair!

Bit of a noob on this, my son wants to add more. he has fitted 6gb kingston khx1600c8d3k3/6gx
on a G1.Guerrilla motherboard.
is this ok to get? or will it take faster ddr4/5

DDR3 prices have gone way up since DDR4 became mainstream with Skylake processors. 8GB used to be available for ~£20 but now they are about £47

sorry meant I have got 2 of each so I'd run a pair & sell the other
I'm just wondering if they'd both run in my machine DDR3 and if one pair is any better than the other (I already know 16GB will be OK, did the Crucial scan)

Remember last winter and earlier on this year when these sets could be picked up under £45. Every time they were posted, people said they'd wait to see the prices drop further as DDR4 took over.

you reckon PC3-14900 (Hyperx) & PC3-12800 (Ballistix) would normally both work in the same machine?
catbeans to luvsadealdealdeal
8y 15d#13
They should do, they will both run at the slower Ballistix speed.

Buy whatever is cheaper; memory latency timing & even clock speed has little performance benefit in most real world usages.

Seems pretty crazy if these can be had for under £40, might have to bite at that price
We got that for £40 in the lightning deal, but which would you prefer to put in your machine, as I now have both?

Great find OP thanks.
To all the naysayers - DIMM prices have seen an increase recently due to the falling £ and $. so its a GREAT price at the moment. Heat added
