Well I clearly know more than you if you think this is a good deal. I didn't randomly slate the deal I said there was a much better option for the money and said what it was and where to get it.

This is an utter dog turd of a laptop for the money so cold from me. I'd be the last to recommend PCWorld usually but the Lenovo for £369 (was £299 on Black Friday) with FHD is far better than this laptop.

Totally agree with you baker Paul. I want to buy a new lap top at approx £400. I'm pleased when someone posts a new deal on here, am optimistic when it goes hot but then it frustrates the hell out of me when some people seem to criticise for the sake of it. Doesn't really help people like me decide. Not criticising & appreciate everyone entitled to their opinions (this is mine).

Nothing wrong with being constructive but just get fed up of laptop deals being kicked down as soon as there put up. so many people just start complaining about the spec, price etc and how they can get better here or there etc it just makes me think why anyone bothers to put laptop deals up.

Not sure why anyone bothers posting any laptop deals as all some others want to do is kick lumps out of there deal and complain it isn't this or that etc etc

Depends if they have something constructive to say or not. I believe my posts to be helpful and constructive rather than kicking the crap out of the deal for the sake of it.

My posts sometimes come in threes so here's a third.
DON'T BUY THIS LAPTOP IF YOU DON'T KNOW THAT YOUR WORKLOAD CAN UTILISE THE RAM.
My posts sometimes come with double negatives, and there was one right there.
Don't buy this laptop based on the amount of RAM, more RAM is not always better. It's not future proofing don't kid yourself, anyway I think you get the message. If you said hey fishmaster I'm clueless but I bought this laptop based on the RAM then I'm allowed to call you a very stupid person and I've already done that. Happy Christmas Fools

looking for another laptop, already have an HP Pavilion but need another one for travelling, no idea what to buy, would be for browsing, music, emailing - it is hard for people like me to choose a laptop! I find a lot of the comments above confusing!
fishmaster to joesmum
24 Dec 161#27
For what you describe this laptop is useless for you, you're paying for RAM that you'll never ever use. More RAM is not always better and in this case 16GB is not required for most people.
fishmaster
24 Dec 161#26
16GB RAM is absolutely useless unless you know you can give the laptop a workload to use it, e.g. RAW image editing in Photoshop.

I had the A10 envy model for £350 with full HD. First thing i did was stick an ssd in it and it stil! Felt sluggish to me. I was coming off a 6th gen i5 though so maybe that's why

AMD eww. bought two of the Intel i5 versions for not much more and they have been fantastic
No worries no offence taken - so I'm looking for a laptop ( not for gaming ) just work n browsing etc - this is max my budget - what would you recommend and remember the spec can be better then this but no lower! .. appreciate your suggestions.

No not at all but when you are playing with other peoples money i should be allowed to say what is on my mind. £380 for this isn't a good deal. I am not trying to offend you but this isn't very good for close to £400. Sorry

Hmmm, all nice except sluggish CPU. But image C: drive to a cheap SSD, replace hard drive with SSD and replace optical drive with HDD and you'll have a high storage laptop I suppose.

The CPU is the worst thing on it. I have the exact same and the A8 is what holds it back. The 8GB i have is enough, The R5 I have is enough for what i want but the A8 kills it.

What would you recommend for a non gaming laptop. Looking one for home photo and video editing. Any ideas

22 Dec 162#1
Too much in my opinion. I have (which i am typing on now) the A8 with 8GB, 1TB and i dont see how the extra 8GB on the A8 would make much difference? The Radeon R5 is pretty much old now with the A8 and the best I can get from it is Diablo III and nothing above it so it is not a gaming laptop and for people looking for a non gaming laptop can save a lot of money from not buying this.

£379 for a gaming laptop, you really are funny as I must have missed the reference to it being a gaming laptop.
Opening post
Appears to be a good spec for the price
Was £599.00 apparently.
