In one of Techmoan's videos he mentions that it's a good feature as it would pick up someone bumping into your car.
He demostrated it when filming someone doing a multiple point turn to get into a space while he was away from the car.

No scally is going to key your bonnet, while hunching down so you'll get a good view, so stuff like movement detection is just a marketing feature rather than being of any use. Techmoan makes the same point in his videos.
Currently preferring the Xiaomi Yi, better made and around £37.66

I use Spytek Viofo a119, and had g1wh and mobius before.
This HP is too shiny and you will need to hide it in a glove box every time you leave your vehicle. Still don't understand why the manufacturers feel that their products need to have chrome finish with all options described on front face of dashcam, stupid.

True. I used my black permanent marker for a shiny dash cam like this. Just paint over anything that's not black, not lens of course :P Might not be perfect but much better.

If anyone has no plans to remove overnight or when parking in suspected dodgy areas, get some black tape/scissors.black marker and get to work. If you want to take it to another level, download a small logo of some rubbish chinese brand and stick it on the front.
I have an aldi dashcam which looks pants and leave overnight with no issues for many months.

Just ordered as I've been looking for a replacement for my mobius which wasn't far off blowing up.

I have 2 of this and it's one of the best plugged in cable hidden auto start when the car start. Excellent product with GPS and good software that record speed and location

Make sure you buy high speed memory card or if on long journeys will crash your recordings

MOBIUS all the way. Matchbox size, top build quality, excellent software, can be hidden away.

I think Mobius is a better option for me. It's a shame the website isn't very good though.

Looks to be a rebadged Transcend camera to me.

I heard the best place for a dash cam is behind the real mirror. Can this fit there?

I've found Amazon list the item box size which would make sense at 160mmx130mm, over 6" for a dash cam would be crazy brick, I mean big

Then that makes the g sensor and motion detection features a bit pointless and not much of a deterrent. Just get a mobius then, better sensor.

I don't want some scally breaking my window and nicking my camera,
god knows why the makers cover these things with chrome bling and flashing lights.
Picture quality is better than I expected, only 30fps so won't capture fine detail in the same way a gopro at 60fps would but then its 1/4 the price.
Fire and forget, switches off automatically, can enable motion detection (which drains battery) or if it detects a bump. Quite pleased with mine, visible to car in front which will stop them doing something stupid, I don't want a covert camera, I want the **** in front to know he's being watched.

Bigger camera should have bigger lens. I'm assuming that HP plastic is better than small squeaky crap from small no-name Chinese factory too. It's in my basket, thanks!

Agreed about the size. 16cm by 13cm does seem big.
