HP Desktop computer with awesome processor. I think this seems to be a great deal for a high power processor if that's what you're after. £480 is a good price for a full blown desktop with this spec that includes windows.

According to pcworld business the pc is as follows: https://www.pcworldbusiness.co.uk/catalogue/item/P240319P HP 280 G2 - Micro tower - 1 x Core i7 6700 / 3.4 GHz - RAM 8 GB - HDD 1 TB - DVD SuperMulti - HD Graphics 530 - GigE - Win 7 Pro 64-bit (includes Win 10 Pro 64-bit Licence)... NOTE: It's a Micro case!... v small... might give major issues putting in other devices such as a powerful and often large graphics card.

Voting hot as I do think this is cheap... but just wanted to say that in my experience these type of HP desktop PCs are quite noisy.

What do you think is the fastest Graphics card you could fit in here ?! I'm looking for a cheap solid VR machine.

1050ti is the best card that doesn't require external power as far as I am aware, which would be the simplest option for this PC I reckon. Having said that, it looks like its only a 180w PSU, so it will be pushing it with one of them!

I found it for £275 when I had a look. You weren't searching for the K were you?

Probably a lazy question ... Yes or No is the real answer though

Except for the PSU issue in machines like these

Is this a trick question or just a lazy one?

I'd change your title otherwise this will go super cold. To me it's an i7 6700 cpu for £480 when you can get it for like £250. By looking at the link it's within a built pc.

pci slots for upgrading. I meant upgrade.

Also, here's a LINK to the entire service manual showing that it is a completely standard ATX PSU.

Or here is the official HP spec sheet including all of the details for the whole PC. LINKY!
I can only find one pic of the internals and it looks like a standard PSU so should be replaceable.

Anyone know how hard itd be to add a gtx 1060, extra ram and an ssd to this? would I need a new power supply?

you would need to replace the power supply if you dont want to burn it out with a 1060
i would wait a little while since kaby lake is close, the next generation is close...

You'll get along fine with a 500w power supply as I do with my 1070 SC and I've only upgraded to an 850w because it was half price. Depending on your mobo as well will depend what ram it can take ie ddr3 or ddr4 and what mhz it can handle and a ssd will most likely be sata so as long as you have a sata connection on the mobo it'll be fine

Beware of HP desktops, I've just bought a HP i5 Haswell for £130, but the downside is the power supply is just enough to run the processor, and not enough to run anything but the lowest powered GPU.
forget high powered GPU's too, there is no 6/8 pin 12v plug
also forget changing the PSU, the motherboard doesn't use standard ATX connectors.
As a pure desktop, great, but they are not bargain gaming machines.
