Really enjoyed building this to find the electric circuits board does not work! My children are really gutted. I work in electronics and found the circuit board that controls the motor and speed to be at fault. Just feel bad because my little ones are upset it doesn't work.

Hornby Says...It’s incredibly disappointing to hear of your experiences with the Jet Engine and I’m sorry for all the frustration caused. I can, however, assure you the Jet Engine will operate with careful and precise construction. The implication being that any failure in the operation of the model is a result of the owner failing to assemble it correctly?

I had one of these a few years ago, the engine spins the wrong way.

Have to agree, I bought one of these in the sales a few years back as a nice relaxing Sunday afternoon build, but found it very frustrating due to the poor build quality. The parts didn't fit together properly so initially the fan blades snagged on the cowling and wouldn't turn fully. Even after a fair bit of trimming and sanding the plastic to free them, the blades still wouldn't turn under their own power unless the motor was up to full speed. The motor is unpleasantly loud so you won't want it on for very long. After a while I got tired of it constantly falling apart, so I binned it.

Was tempted until I saw the average 3 star review on Amazon for this (65 reviews). Mainly issues with poor instructions and too weak a motor to turn engine.
