Uh, the Samsung UE55KS7000 is a 10 bit panel... That's why the best price is £899, whereas Samsung's 8 bit panels (with otherwise very similar specs) are much cheaper. You're paying the extra for the 10 bit panel. I believe there is some confusing info online due to the US version being an 8+2 panel though, as others have already mentioned.
Having seen a 49" TV in a relative's living room yesterday, I'm now entirely sure that 55" is pushing it for our smallest bedroom, so probably good I didn't look for a 65"...

Unless this 55.00000001 inches or bigger it is not greater than 55 inches. Rolls eyes. Having slapped you down for your inability to know what over 55 inches means, credit to you for finding a good TV for that price.

Interesting. I bought a tv from ao last week for an expected fixed £10 on all TVs, but it tracked at %1. I was going to wait a while before chasing, but it fits what you say (I used a £50 code).
So I guess I can confirm the above, and the deal is actually for £693 odd. Still a good price, but not much of a deal now.

It's a good set
It's an IPS panel so it has issues with blacks and greys
Input lag is around 33
It is a solid all rounder though
No obvious strength or weakness
It doesn't have samsungs screen quality in front but has much better viewing angles
It does do the RGBW instead of RGB which means the resolution isn't really 4k
It's not going to be obvious though
It also supports 24p unlike samsungs series 6
So no judder on Netflix and blurays like the Sammy's
My honest opinion would be to go for the LG uh6500 series
It has a better panel and input lag at 20 ms
solid

LG Started the whole shenanigans, with their disigenious way to sell tv that were not 4K, due to lack of consumer awareness got away with it and others copied them, now we know the difference, they have come to some half baked consensus of what truly 4K/HDR needs to comply, But there is trouble ahead

This is exactly what I mean by the confusion caused by samsungs ridiculous model number assignments depending on country. I might be wrong but its my opinion that the information you have linked to on displayspecifications.com is wrong. I have found several sources which confirm the uk ks7000 model e.g. ue55ks7000 is full 10bit e.g. https://www.avforums.com/threads/samsung-ks7000-ue55ks7000-uhd-4k-tv-review.2032989/page-20

8bit 10bit doesn't matter to me, just gone from a Sony 1080p and I couldn't imagine a better picture.

Oled is awesome, but lg kicked off about premium spec because not oled TV would meet it, hence the fudge to allow 500 nits. Premium allows for 10000 nits which shows you how far oled tech has to go yet.

If you look at the Ultra HD Premium spec for HDR, OLED TVs are actually allowed a lower peak nits rating, because they are able to go darker than LED TVs. I can't remember what that figure was exactly though. This Hisense isn't a 10bit panel though, so it's irrelevant. As others have said, it won't display HDR properly. Sure it'll take the signal in and then display an image, but as it's only an 8bit panel it isn't capable of showing the full colour spectrum of 10bit HDR. 8bit panels claiming HDR is the "HD ready" of 2016. Just another way to confuse the consumer.
As for somebody asking for a HDR10 TV over 55" for under a grand, I just ordered the Samsung UE55KS7000. HDR10, 55" and currently available at £899 in the boxing day sales.

27 Dec 16#32
It's a decent price given the size of the screen, but for me it's the quality versus quantity argument and where you derive value from.
For me I want a quality set with proper 10 bit capability if I'm to bother upgrading from 1080P. I'm not interested in watching 720P (or less) broadcast stretched across a 65" screen, until my SkyQ starts displaying an abundance of 4K content its useless, most of the stuff on live TV is still sub-HD and no downscaling in the world is going to clean up that image quality.

Utter nonsense,my LG oled 4k HDR TV is only capable of just under 500 nits but blows away any led quantum dot or any other TV as you do not need 1000 nits plus for full spectrum HDR.Ask any certified THX calibrator and they will tell you the same.
