I have read a lot of reviews about Hisense TV's and some of the reviews are scary. A common issue is the electric/burning plastic smell that these TVs generate. I would definitely do a bit of research before taking the plunge.

It pays HDR files via usb 3.0 and over HDMI (with a newer update, which should be received as soon as the TV connects to the internet)
As far as I know, all this means it that HDR files can be played. Kinda like how a 720p TV might play 1080p files
In any case, 4k looks amazing. Maybe not as good as the £2000+ sets, but then, you didn't pay £2000+ either
A major problem is that the built in YouTube app did used to play the 4k videos, but this no longer is the case. No one knows why it stopped, or how to make it work again.
solid
3 Dec 16#48
Yes you can plug a usb stick or a usb HDD. You have a fair few options on how you want to delay the recordings etc
Also, the set has both aerial and satellite connections

It's either proper HDR or it isn't, having a bit of HDR is like saying I'll have a bit of a tyre on my car wheel please. There's no point in HDR unless it's done properly.
solid
3 Dec 16#52
HDR does look different to nonHDR content. Whether that's a good thing or worth it, that's a subjective thing
For me, the nonHDR 4k is fantastic for me, I've not seen HDR so I dont feel like I'm missing out. But, then again, I don't buy or watch Blu-ray - if you do, then you may be disappointed

Same here - apparently I signed for it (while I was a work). Amazon couldn't care less - made me file a police report then grudgingly refunded me a week later. They won't honour the deal so I bought this one instead.
kekomemo
3 Dec 16#59
That's pretty interesting logy...I've no doubt something's amiss somewhere, but I'm more inclined to believe it's actively foul play on Amazon's part now. At first I assumed it was just the usual 'delivery driver fancied a new gadget' routine...but the way in which it's been handled, seemingly in both our cases, makes me think it might have been oversell of insufficient stock or something.
Either way, they've had my money and your's for a significant number of days, to do with as they please. And if the TV was/is real, someone other than us is currently enjoying it!
I'll be unlikely to order high value items from Amazon direct to my house again, that's for sure

To answer the query - the PROs and CONs are from a template - when you write a review on ao.com you tick things like Good Build Quality, VFM etc (what you agree with). The review itself you write yourself

I think you're mistaken. HDR image files as in picture files do exist. However as an indigenous format there's only openEXR that I know of. I think in terms of HDR in TV's the processing is done by the television rather than playing a format with embedded HDR information. I could be wrong though I have been before.
For the geeks out there, it may be of interest to note the first real time HDR camera was created in 1990 by Georges Cornuéjols. The first time I was aware of HDR was when I played Half Life 2 and it was demonstrated specifically in that game.
If you are looking for a new telly anything that is new now is better than a 5-7 year old set. I'd get this if I needed one as I haven't got £2000 to spend on a plastic box. Good spec. You will find the hukd 'experts' have either too much money to burn or are dreamers pretending they upgrade their £2k plastic box every 3 months.

The 55 definitely. I bought a Sony 49 last year and now wish I'd gone for the 60. As long as you have a decent size living room and are sitting at least 6 feet from the TV you can go up to 60 imo.
