Better or on par with any Samsung or Sony 4K TV I have played with ( and far cheaper!). Very smooth and crisp, plenty of features. Hisense are very much an up and coming brand in the west. Not budget quality at all. Only have to look around online to see the consensus is that Hisense is excellent quality, nothing like budget brands

was working in someone's flat the other day, was very impressed with the picture. made my 55" look like a portable TV!
Why would you purchase it from Richer Sounds instead? The 6 year warranty is given because no matter where u purchase something of this type of price, if it went wrong you you would win any case against them and get a new one within a 6 year period.

anyone recommend a thin wall mount for this with swivel if poss ?
weight of tv is 31kg with stand so guess i could get a smaller bracket ?
does this comes with 6yr warranty? cant see anwhere,i can see only 2yrs
jonwilsonuk
20 Dec 161#23
The 6 year rule is a UK rule not specific to a store or brand offer. This is why companies like John Lewis and Richer Sounds offer such long warranties because they would never win in a court case
lionkhan1 to jonwilsonuk
20 Dec 16#26
Any link to that info?

Yes but RS 6yr warranty is a nice easy ring them up and in home visit to repair warranty, rather than the hassle you get elsewhere.
Yeh right ,good luck with that in year 3,4,5,6.like a retailer will just say fair enough man there's your money back sorry about that .Yes you may win a court battle but you have to prove it had a manufacturing defect .They certainly will not make it easy for you ! Most people can't be bothered with the hassle of this fit for purpose legal battle if it packs in early. If Richer or JL can get within 50 quid of price with their warranty its a no brainer

discoman2016

i never said it was but it can display in 10bit i.e. skyuhd and btuhd and xbox one s HDR like most tvs at this price point they not true 10 bit panels! u need to pay over £1000 i.e. all tv companys say this can do this and that?

3 years ago when my Sony 40" TV bought from John Lewis when on the blink 4.5 years I contacted them and they told me they covered Tv's up to 6 years which was the first I'd heard of it but the JL guy explained that they expect TV's to last for 6 years so that's what they base their replace/refund policy on it and offered me a another Sony 40" set or a partial refund which I took as I wanted a bigger TV
FrugalFergal
21 Dec 16#46
Yes, but a genuine question I have as a non-techie is that will I get a decent HDR experience? Or is 8+ bit a stopgap akin to 1080p/1080i. I saw some Sony 4K XD series TVs and the demos looked amazing. 80% of the experience at 50% of the price would be a good deal for some.

I have the LG 65uh770v which is 8 bit with dithering and have compared it with my friends ks7000 which a belive is 10 bit and I may be a bit biased but there really is not much in it at all..... His is better, but negligible.

This is a great price I wish I had money spare to buy it.
A lot of the manufacturers do 8-bit + FRC and call it 10-bit. Its not true 10-bit but I suspect you won't tell most of the time

Rubbish! For 1 in Scotland it is 5 years. For 2 you would have to prove after 6 months that the issue was inherent from manufacture. And for 3 I believe that in year 6, you would get a max of 1/6 the purchase price (1/3 in year 5, etc.).

Very Hot. I had this TV from JL for £800 and its been 3 months and I can easily tell that this TV is much better quality on vision and its got a wonderful sound system that I didnt had to spend on sound bar. 4K works a treat and smart interface works well. I doubt you can get this spec TV on anywhere else on the branded like sony, samsung or LG. It has got a Sonic Sound theatre mode which is great for watching movies. Very hot from me.

Thanks. It's just a lot of people here vote cold as soon as they see 8bit. It's left me wondering is it really all that bad. Im sure many of us wont mind waiting a few more months for 10bit to become the norm and down in price if it really is a deal breaker. It doesnt help that few stores have true HDR 10bit/8bit demos to allowconsumers to make an informed choice.

Frugal..
TV had bad banding issues on screen, would not connect to soundbar because hdmi (arc) is faulty tried connecting 2 different bars to it neither worked,Hisense don't have a answer over phone.
Took hours of playing with TV settings to get a half decent picture.Sky remote needed replacing to latest one rev10 to work TV. Takes a while to come on from start.
Check reviews and problems on avforums it's not the best but not the worse.
I've kept it but everyday I think I've I done the right thing replacing my Samsung 55" with it .Samsung wins hands down on connectivity and picture.
