Does make me wonder how much margin there is for the retailers at this price.

Standard markup for retail varies but generally 20%-40%. The outside value of 40% usually includes the VAT recovery for the retailer. I'm sure there is a more detailed explanation that you can find but this is my direct experience of retail operations.

Tesco just appears to be a normal bottle of Hendrick's? Normal price £26.99 so cant see the deal here. The dreamscape gift set is worth £33.95 (http://www.drinksdirect.co.uk/acatalog/hendricks-gin-dreamscapes.html) but this seems to just be a 70cl bottle?
