been looking at this phone for my son
It's either this phone
P9 lite from EE (£140)
or Moto G4 from tesco £149 (have £20 Clubcard)
some people have been struggling unlocking these and according to other comments on the other posts most eBay sellers can't unlock the Huawei one's so are using the DC unlocker program
Can anyone who has this phone confirm what the UI is like as I've read it can be a bit laggy?

Missus has this phone, word of warning, her years old Sony M2 out performed this. :disappointed:
If the prices were the same you'd take the moto all day long due to the better screen and stock, (almost,) Android.
As the prices are different by a good chunk, it's your choice as you get what you pay for.

Just a word of caution Moto G4 play isn't the same as Moto G4. play is a lite version not so good

had for about 6 months and find the battery fine on mine ...people walk around with GPS on WiFi on and screen brightness at full you just need to learn to optimise any phone to get a full day out of a battery . I also find the camera very good ..yes I don't think you are going to get great photos on any phone in the dark with little flashes they have on phones . overall very happy with my p8 lite i would snap up at this price .

Only comment I can make on battery life is that it's better than the iPhone 5S it replaced. Charge it every day but it gets quite a hammering.

No bother
Its very frustrating that the battery is so poor as I cant fault the phone otherwise.
Marshmallow is slightly better than Lollipop for battery life but its still very poor.
Its also very slow to charge .

I have one of these.
Its an excellent phone except for the battery life which is appalling .
The battery is only 2200 mAh and I barely get a day out of it with minimal use.

Sorry. My mistake. I thought you were talking about the moto g which has 2gb ram.
To answer your question. I'd nearly always take the device with the most RAM if prices are equal.

i bought one previously from Vodafone, and was locked. Vodafone startup screen, apps etc. someone previously posted a guide to unlock which I followed. was like four quid.
agree with the comments on the camera. it's a little weak, but then you aren't spending premium money.
Bought this last week same price and asked if I could swap the top up for a case but sadly not. Bought a decent looking shockproof case for a fiver delivered on eBay.

Yeah it's a decent phone , the camera was alright , capable of an okay picture but struggled quite a bit with too much or too little light but for under a £100, you cant go wrong

I got an unlocked one from carphonewarehouse and it was fairly simple to update to emui4/ marshmallow. Not sure if it works for a network locked one though.

I've had it for a year. No regrets, as fast as the day I bought it. A little disappointed with the camera, colours a bit insipid in daylight. But then again I'm fussy.
