Seems to be the lowest price around, reduced by £100 today.
Stock is currently very limited but the 64GB model is also reduced by £100 to £379.99 and is available for delivery.

I can't warn people off this enough, as someone that's bought the last google tablet from Currys all I can say is DON'T. I had loads of problems and both google and the manufacturer were zero help, took it back to Currys three times, the first time they straight out said they couldn't do anything because it was new so I ended up returning it and they ordered me a new one that took ages to arrive(after I had to drive to the shop which at the time wasn't a trivial exercise). The next TWO times it sat on a shelf in their store for 20 days before they even shipped it out for repair, it was only after I went into the shop personally and told them at 28 days I would be demanding a new replacement(as is your right) they did anything, and even then they threatened to give it back to me broken so I would have to return it so they could get another 28 days. When it broke the final time I just used the warranty on my credit card, they were fantastic, sent me a shipping label and by end of the week they had written it off as unrepairable and gave me back the full retail value.

My experience of PC World is exactly like yours. However, my experience of dealing with Google directly is very different. My Nexus 5 was replaced with minimum fuss nearly 2 years after I bought it, with the replacement coming with ANOTHER two year warranty. My Nexus 6P has the same benefit.
I'd be surprised if Google don't offer deals of this tablet soon. In the meantime, I'd warn anyone away from PC World/Currys as they are truly an awful company to deal with after the sale.

Ah that's a shame. Not really interested in paying extra for the storage as I'm unlikely to need it. Would probably bite at 299 for this given how expensive it usually is but nearest stock is 30+ miles away (York), not worth the effort.
Do we think Google are about to pricedrop this to 299?

You will not get a proper laptop that performs like this device for £299. Not even close. As for 'nothing more than games and fart-apps', your ignorance is showing. My daily driver is a Surface Pro 3, and I am currently looking for an Android tablet to go with it because I need a device with real access to both Kindle and Google Play Books. The browser version of Google Play Book is not a solution, and the Windows version of Kindle is just terrible.
Make no mistake, I have found the SP3 to be a fantastic device, but an Android Tablet like this provides usage configurations that Windows 10 currently cannot achieve, with no fans, better battery life, and obviously lighter.
mcav
8 Dec 16#75
I agree that their software support is actually bad. I would not however expect Google to deal with other retailers' return issues. I might seem intuitive, but when you buy from PC world, you enter into the contract with the retailer. This is why I prefer to buy directly from Google.
However, the alternative is 'practically anywhere but PC World'
