Nice.
Don't actually need this set so not buying but this is what HUKD used to be about and how it still should be - proper deals, glitches and misprices.
All to often nowadays it is simply posting stuff at 2% off or even RRRP - not worth looking at and clogs the site up with rubbish.
This is the type of thing it should be about.

I doubt it is a glitch as these are only worth about £8 in any case.
You would be better putting your money into one of these better quality and more useful Advanced 3/8 drive sets for £21.25
Vassy4u, I think you're a hacker who creates glitches. I mean, who adds two of these sets to a basket in the first place lol good hack Vassy4u, heat added!
It's not an official 2 for 20 offer but thats what is happening minus the 15% discount on one set

Yeah and of course businesses are doing this sort of thing everyday aren't they. It says glitch for a reason because glitches are not something deliberate so are usually rare.

Also works with this 4 piece wrench and plier set:
That ratchet reminds me of some cheap **** I have bought in the past from Halfords. Honestly, that will not last long. IMHO. Got a similar set free from a petrol station with exactly the same ratchet. Halfords warranty wont cover this stuff.

it's a nice idea but £15 for a chinese socket set...I wouldn't pay that..
I had one a few years ago that looked identical, the ratchet pawl jammed and I returned it and exchanged for the Advanced Professional set (on sale then and now) which is excellent. I'd say save your money, they are completely average.
My thoughts are for DIYers when it comes to hand tools you almost never use and which are straightforward then buy cheap. If it's something you use more often then spend a bit more money - your techniques/skills will be poor and a decent quality tool will help make up for the shortcomings.

Good find. I have Halfords 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" drive socket sets all of which have same type ratchet handle. As long as you are sensible with the amount of torque/leverage they are perfectly suitable for diy. I have built two kit cars with mine and only had one self inflicted problem with a ratchet which then played up until Halfords swapped it for me. Just ordered two of these, one as a gift and another to keep in my car.

Cheers op, went for the sockets and the stubby set.
As others have said, they aren't covered by the lifetime guarantee. I've got the same socket set (or half of it) from about 18 years ago when it came in a grey box with a perspex front (which broke when I dropped it, which is why I've lost bits). The ratchet is ok, but it is getting a bit notchy now after 18 years of regular (but not professional) use.

No and yes they don't cover the ratchet mechanism but if for some reason you managed to snap it in half then that would be covered.
I tried replacing a duff ratchet spanner that wouldn't lock off and therefore spun both ways, they refused to replace it. So to get around it i broke the ratchet part out and exchanged it at another store.
Although thier site doesn't seem to make any reference to ratchets. Perhaps they have changed their rule.

I remember it was always lifetime warranty on non moving parts.
That said my 7 year old 19mm professional range spanner went same way as yours. Id been using it most days and had been torquing fastners with the ratchet which I probably shouldnt have so was happy it lasted that long.
Halfords replaced it with an advanced range spanner no problem. They were more concerned I had receipt than that it was a moving part.
The advanced spanner is similar pretty much the same as my old professional one which was said to be made by sykes pickavant. The new spanners are apparantly made by gear wrench who make quality tools.
Ive got a few advanced socket sets but they are not quite the quality of the old pro stuff.
That said, they are on par with the newer britool, bahco etc so highly recommended and excellent buy when on sale.
