Anyone know how these guitars are for heavier rock type stuff?
I spent about 7 years teaching myself on a cheap fender strat copy - stopped playing ten years ago when I broke a finger and it frustrated me to continue.
Would love to pick things back up, I'm not much past beginner really. My musical tastes are heavier now.

Cripes! So many Gibsons at low prices.
The Gibson Les Paul is the typical Led Zep et al signature, thick, heavy rock sound. I got a Gibson SG after years of Fender Tele and Strat playing. It squeals like a good 'un when overdriven and sounds great for blues and jazz. I realised later how I loved Robbie Krieger of The Doors and Alice Cooper's early guitarists who used SGs so extensively - must have been a subconscious choice.
I suggest you watch a few youtube comparisons - there are a plethora. You will find the viewers ask about the amp setup, with good reason, as what you feed it through will account for a large part of the sound.
The good thing with Amazon is you can return with no quibble. I'm sorely tempted by the low priced returns on Gibsons. Whatever you chose, enjoy! It's not a chore, it's fun!

I'm not sure I'm a fan of the blue all over, much prefer them with a coloured top and then wood as the main body/back. Good deal though, although shouldn't it be £770 as you can't get it without Prime... :wink:
