Learns your activity level and assigns a personalised daily goal
Easy-to-read display shows steps taken, goal countdown and calories burned
Pair with heart rate monitor strap for additional data during activities
The ultimate workout accessory, Garmin’s Vivofit is a wearable fitness tracker that assesses your current activity levels, and then assigns you a personalised daily step goal. Its easy-to-read LCD display shows how many steps you’ve taken, distance travelled, calories burned and time of day. Garmin Vivofit stores all your activity data on your wrist, and with a touch of a button, it wirelessly syncs it to Garmin Connect, the online fitness community. At Garmin Connect you can see your progress, join online challenges and earn virtual badges to reward yourself for all of your hard work. Garmin Connect also lets you compete and compare data with friends and family around the world.
Thanks to its long-lasting battery (more than a year without a battery change), Vivofit can check on your progress 24/7, even when you sleep. In sleep mode, Vivofit will monitor your rest and record the total length of your sleep, as well as periods of unrest. The Vívofit band is water-resistant, so you can shower or get caught in the rain worry-free.
To keep you motivated, Vivofit features a ‘time to move’ bar which appears on the display after 1 hour of inactivity and builds when you’ve been sitting too long. Just walk for a couple of minutes to reset.
Use the heart rate monitor chest strap (included with this bundle) with the Garmin Vivofit Fitness Tracker to record your heart rate data and get a more accurate calorie burn information for any fitness activity, such as a run or a session at the gym.
For detailed calorie tracking, you can create an account at MyFitnessPal and link it to your Garmin Connect account. This allows you to compare calories consumed to your total calories burned, which Vívofit also records throughout the day.

I've compared my chest strap to taking my pulse and also a phone app and all are very close to each other, so as to make no difference.

Is this a Bluetooth heart rate monitor? I have an old old heart rate monitor which is great for real time recording but want a Bluetooth one that I can connect to my phone. That way can record how long I've been in each zone etc

I think most Garmin addon stuff is Ant+, but syncs via Bluetooth.
I have this one and it's done what I wanted for over a year with only. I minor niggles and the battery is still going too.

I have one of these, the battery is still going after 17 months, it seems pretty accurate on the steps, it syncs with the garmin app no problem (ios) and unless you want to track your heart rate 24/7, putting the strap on for a workout is no great hardship when you are putting on the rest of your kit. A bargain at this price.

But can't the wrist measuring devices be a bit inaccurate?

Good price. I had to return this product due to it's high inaccuracy and issues with bluetooth sync. However at this price worth the risk.

Thanks OP, looks a good deal with the HRM. One year battery life and waterproof too.
The price is actually £39.00, so you may want to ammend the title.
