I wonder as i have put in my notice if putting in an order with BT or others to request a number transfer would help focus their minds to get in touch? Has anyone else got this deal recently their better?

AVOID VIRGIN

I took out their Vivid so-called 100 Mbps Unlimited Fibre package, recently - speed tests (wired ethernet without any other downloads in background on a virus/spyware-free machine) revealed 20-30 Mbps on a daily basis, in the afternoons and evenings !!

Interestingly I get around 85 Mbps at 3.30 A.M. when nearly the whole country's fast asleep

Virgin are clearly deceiving and cheating their customers !

Avoid at all costs.

That was/is one fantastic deal - thank you for posting the details. Has any existing customer managed to get anywhere close to this deal recently? I see someone else managed to get it for £20.50 on retentions. I have given my cancellation and awaiting the call.

Have given 30 days notice to VM am waiting for them to phone me and persuade me to stay, three days so far, getting anxious here now :disappointed:
Have a BT deal lined up £34 a month including line rental and mobile SIM only, television, broadband, anytime phonecalls.
Just confirmed with Virgin Media my disconnection date of 8th February, no offers made :disappointed:

not really sure what they're up to

I agreed the £35 per month but they sent me the contract (first time in 10 years of doing the virgin dance) but it clearly states 12 month contract with 12 months at £16pm (phone rental is included)
See how much the Feb bill says I guess

Yeah you really must be prepared to haggle for this deal now, especially if you already have a TV package of some kind. I was on the phone for two hours before I got sorted. Worth it for the deal though, top phone package (must be a mistake but who's telling) and guaranteed price for two years

Just on phone to Virgin (0800 number listed on the post) the bundle has expired on the 31st of Dec. However she's spoken to her manager and he's allowed her to process it through. Just a one off fee of £14.99 to activate the bundle.
Get ringing people and thank you to whoever posted the picture of the letter, it greatly helped!

30 Dec 16 #242
Oooooook so I finally got it! - I had to haggle and cry tears and draw sweat from my brow but got there in the end. They seem to be clued up on a lot of things though and the retentions guy who put it through for me basically said I'm only getting it because people have told me to stop my cancellation twice, two people have told me I am eligible (before telling me I am not) and that I've been on the phone for 2 hours + lol and he wanted it sorted.

1. Cancelled early Dec - Was hoping for a call back from Virgin

2. Saw this post today, decided to phone Virgin, asked them if there are any deals, mentioned I hadn't got a call back. Retentions guy had no clue what deal I was on about for existing customers. Told me I should sign up to the new customer deal with another member of the household.

3. Posted on here, was told to try calling the actual numbers posted here. I used the number on the screenshot which ends in 1 rather than 4. Chose option 2, got put through to the sales team.

4. Mentioned the deal to them, got put on hold numerous times. had to cancel my cancellation which added more time on the phone (thank god for wireless headsets). Eventually the sales rep came back saying the letter also says you must not have a TV package blah blah.

5. Offered me some deal I didn't pay attention to that starts at £76 and rises to £119, I had to cut him off and just told him to put me back to retentions. Been on the phone for around an hour at this point.

6. Asked the retentions guy to reinstate the cancellation, came back saying he sees I had a letter for the full house deal, told him I wasn't eligible due to having a TV package, said he would see what he could do. Came back saying the sales team have no idea how I could have the letter, no one my street is on the mailing list let alone my name etc, asked if I was being honest, told him I was etc. Told him why I cancelled beforehand.

7. Told me that my tv package is stopping things, he cancelled it on the spot, made me wait 10 minutes on hold to let it go through. Came back saying that after some back and forth and some arguing he has got it put through for me and that the sales teams incompetence and being on the phone for a couple hours helped me out.

8. We seem to have the top phone package rather than simply weekends. Also getting a new Virgin box, not sure which one it is to be honest but its due next week, self installation and a newer super hub.

Currently on hold to them, tried to blag it but because I have a tv package they won't put it through, which many have said but thought I'd try my luck. Person I spoke to also said the promotion apparently ended on Dec 23

I'm not tied into my contract but didn't get a call back from Virgin, disconnection is due to happen on 5th Jan. Will see what they offer me now though.

Edit: He mentioned a package with discount starting at £70 so just told him to put me through to retention's lol

30 Dec 16 #240
My call back was Wednesday, these deals are only available in Dec so maybe worth calling again and ask what they can do for you
Jan deals may be similar and they always call if you've handed in your notice (unless you were tied into a contract anyway in which case the penalties for leaving would mean they care less)
Bucky4321
30 Dec 16 #239
Blag it that after you cancelled you had the letter come through the post and would like to accept the new deal.

Phone the sales team on the 0800 number.

30 Dec 16 #238
Are people still getting this deal?

Cancelled nearly 30 days ago, no contact from the outbound team. VM rep even mentioned to me that they haven't tried to make contact.

Mentioned this deal to people on live chat, never heard of it couldn't do it. Spoke to two people at retentions, both hadn't heard of the deal and couldn't do any deals for £40 with 200MB

Tried going for 152mb and was told by both that they only offer 100mb or 200mb deals. Even said I should get someone to sign up as a new customer and try that method, deal still works out at £55 a month though.

29 Dec 16 #236
Bit off topic, but does anyone know if the new V6 boxes remote will work in another room (since it uses a wireless rather than infra red type signal)?

The reason I ask is I am hoping to get this and would like to be able to watch it in the room next door too via a HDMI sender or HDMI over LAN or similar (any advice on these kinds of gadgets would be great too), but since the V6 doesn't use infra red for it's remote (so traditional ir repeaters won't work) my plan is going to be scuppered unless the v6's wireless signal is strong enough to work through a wall.....

One of the most surreal phone calls ever. VM contacted me today and asked why I was leaving. Mentioned a 'mate' had just been offered 200mb, TV XL and weekend phone for £39 (caught me on the hop so I couldn't quote this exact deal). Offered me what I have already for £35, I said ok, he thanked me and said 'done' and wished me a merry Christmas and clicked off. 90 seconds call max. No emails but checked my account and now have a credit in my account which brings me to this month's bill of £35. Delighted. Been with Cabletel, NTL and now VM and this is the cheapest I've ever paid!

On the contrary, I would love to get one of the TV tablets (not at £299 though!). You miss the point that just because it is branded as a TV tablet, unless VM have somehow locked it down, since it runs Android you could enjoy all you favourite games and apps with a large format view, would make games a lot more fun and immersive, could be good for reading digital books and magazines especially. it's a respectable spec, the screen could be higher res for a 14" but the choice makes sense since most streaming TV is still 1080P or less.

At first I thought there was no hope of getting it with this package and there probably isn't, but reading the review of the V6 in Stuff magazine did make me wonder if there was some hope as they quoted the price at a more realistic £229 and said it was included in some packages, suspect it will be top tier only, but could be worth asking, has anyone tried?

Not a chance they want £299 for it. Besides it runs virgin TV anywhere and anyone who has used it will tell you how bad that is. Also all the features it promises are not actually working yet. You can only download /stream limited content and its only available in SD format. £300 for a 14in SD selective TV no thanks Mr Branson.

Hi just looking on the net, And apparently there is a telly tablet that works along side the V6 box from virgin. It has a 14inch screen and has a stand on the back of it to watch it hands free. This is the link to the review I found stuff.tv/vir…iew It say's it should come with tv and broadband bundles, I wonder if we could try and get this? Which would be a big bonus.

Many Thanks to imcg30 for bringing this deal to our attention :). I have just got this deal so for a extra 52 pence on what I pay for my broadband alone, I will get a upgrade on my broadband from 100Mbps to 200Mbps and this tv package as well what a bargain. I will be paying £20 a month for this deal then I pay the line saver upfront. So paying for the line rental upfront this works out at £36.33 for this deal overall. I have opted for the V6 box as well for £49.95 and an activation fee of £14.99. So this will run for 24 months at this price so they say, But your are only tied in on a contract for 12 months. Thanks again

Sweet. Self install on 29th. Thanks op. Clicking hot isn't enough for the money this saves, if you pm me your PayPal I'll buy you a pint!

No questions asked. Rang 150 and the guy told me to call the 0800 number and choose option 1 as they have a dedicated team. I only had phone and 50mbit broadband as I binned TV and 150mbit about 18 months ago as the price got out of hand. Be great to up to 200mbit as 40-50gb game downloads and regular patches are a pain on 50mbit. I can't imagine how anyone copes on old adsl these days.

Thanks for the heads up. I just had to go on chat, the whole bundle was wrong. I've now got it in writing that I will be receiving the full house movies limited edition bundle on the 30th January. There is still a discrepancy with the V6 box, I was offered it at £49.95 but the guy on chat said its £104.95. I might just leave it rather than rock the boat seeing as I will be paying less than I am paying now for broadband and phone.

Just had virtually the same. Phoned sales they told me they couldn't do it and passed me to retentions who in turn passed me to the outbound team.

The outbound team asked me when I got the letter, I had to blag it that it came on Monday then they asked me why I had waited until now to phone, again I had to blag it that I was working away, then they asked me to read it out to them (thanks for the screenshot :p).

An hour later I actually got the deal.

Did the £30pm include line rental? Or was that separate?
benson2266
20 Dec 16 #196
I was in the exact same boat so I cancelled everything and went to bt. 3 days later bt contacted virgin regarding my change to them and within hours I was called by virgin outward bound team (these are the guys who can authorise pretty much anything to keep you). I got the full house +movies, v6, superhub 3 and a secondary tivo. In addition I was given a £50 credit as an apology no charges at all for activation or boxes and a total £30pm (which I can confirm to be correct having my new bill since generated)

My advice is if you are unhappy then walk. Don't threaten to and then do nothing actually cancel and wait. You have a 30day period should you have a change of heart or don't have them throwing themselves at you.

My friend and I have his annual dance with virgin and joke about it but this time I really did have my mind made up until they came with an offer I couldn't refuse.

Thanks for the useful info.

I've now cancelled the full monty upgrade or whatever it's called - couldn't justify £39 per month plus a £100 one off charge.

I'll just stick with £17 per month for 70mbs internet plus line rental with talk weekends and continue paying an extra £10/month for a high quality IPTV service for another year.

For anyone looking at getting the v6 box thinking it's going to change your viewing I would wait. I have had the v6 since Saturday and while navigation of menus, on demand and movies is instant the other features such as apps are very hit and miss (even Netflix won't load).
Back this up with the fact this 4k hdr unit may be able to provide stunning picture quality virgin actually have zero rights to ANY 4k content. If I didn't get mine installed for free I would live with the slower menus etc till this box is the new norm and virgin stop charging for it.
Just my opinion but really anyone without a new v6 isn't missing out on anything special.

20 Dec 16 #185
I see what you mean. It is possible there is more than one model of standard or original VM Tivo but certainly not that I am aware of. The only differences is in the HDD size, in that you can get a version with 500GB and one with 1TB but the 1TB model has no other advantages.

One thing is for sure, they certainly have a surplus of them as they offered me a brand new one today when I called, I would have thought they would be down to used and refurbs by now. They wouldn't stretch to the 1TB though, if they had I might have just took it as a stopgap to the V6...
Rossmor40
20 Dec 16 #184
Right ok thanks but think I misunderstood, I thought you were saying there was a version 2 of the older TiVo box. I have seen the new box first hand as the engineer who brought the replacement v1 TiVo box showed me one. Apparently they call it the "leapfrog" box and they tested it at their office with a 1gb internet line to see if they could break it but it stood up to all the tests.

You almost certainly wouldn't have got the V6 as a simple replacement. the new one probably is a bit faster because it has a empty HD and all the series link and episode lists are empty. Most PVRs will become slower as the HDD nears capacity...

Just gave my 30 day notice offered me hardly anything, loyalty discount for broadband was the same deal as new customers so I said no thanks. Il sit patiently for a couple of weeks and wait for a phone call.
ST3123
20 Dec 16 #181
Tried calling again. I couldn't get this offer but was offered a deal fairly close to it, but sadly with the old Tivo, but was told I could probably secure a upgrade to the V6 at a later date (a few months down the line) as they are likely to drop the additional charges with time like they did on the last one.

The deal I was offered was full house without sky cinema, standard talk weekend and the same 200mb broadband for £35pm. Is somewhat tempting as it's a bit cheaper and I could probably do without the Sky Cinema as I often get cheap deals on Now TV Cinema pass, which is basically the same thing. Just depends exactly how long they would want me to keep that old Tivo....

Good deal?
Rossmor40
20 Dec 16 #180
How can you tell what version of TiVo box you have. I got a new the other week as the original from 2012 broke down. It's slightly faster this one.
mike33
20 Dec 16 #179
You are exactly right the old tivo box is a bit of a relic now and would have loved the v6 box but they would not budge on that £105 extra for it and if i had got them down to even half of that price i might have been tempted.
karlie88
20 Dec 16 #178
I still think a £105 one-off charge for the newer v6 box plus £39 per month for vivid 200 internet, line rental, weekend talk, plus lots of tv/sport is a very good price.

Works out at about £43 per month.

I was tempted by their standard offer but typed in 'slow tivo box' into Google and the results didn't look too good.
ST3123
20 Dec 16 #177
Only if you can live with V1 Tivo though (see my other post), the original Tivo is a relic from 2011 and painfully slow compared to just about anything else but as you say if you can live with it's limitations it is a good deal for sure for some that will be a big if.

Personally I'm going V6 or bust....
ST3123
20 Dec 16 #176
Thanks for clarifying. I will keep trying as I might get lucky but I think this deal is going to be too pricey for me. I wouldn't take the original Tivo if they paid me as it is painfully slow and though slight has a poorer softer picture than Freeview/Freesat on the HD channels (though that could be true of the V6 too). I had the Tivo since it launched in 2011 (was one of the early adopters) it was always slow but was really impressive technically at the time as Sky had nothing comparable for years but as time wore on it's performance got more and more annoying and I finally got shot of it earlier this year and haven't missed it at all.....
mike33
20 Dec 16 #175
The original deal posted by the op is not brilliant because includes a charge of £105 for the v6 box hidden away in the small print but you have got to admit if you just get the old tivo box with this package you have got a good deal and hopefully in a few months time you might get the v6 box for free with another phone call as this box might come as standard just like the sky q box is standard on most of skys new packages i think.
karlie88
20 Dec 16 #174
Thanks.
karlie88
20 Dec 16 #172
If you're going for the standard Tivo box then I think you just have to pay £14.99 activation + £40 installation charge (£50 extra is for the V6 box).

Would be grateful for other people's experiences with regards to this £40 engineer visit/installation charge and whether they're paying it on their first bill? (either with standard tivo box or the new v6 box).

I'm beginning to wonder whether it's been mentioned at all for some people going for the deal over the phone...

Did you have all three services from them?
mike33
20 Dec 16 #170
Mine is self installation with tivo box and new router when i get it so no engineer involved here and still 15 quid activation fee so basically 15 quid for me to attach some cables and make a phone call to activate the services,a bit of a rip off if you ask me,also did inquire about the v6 box but was about a 105 quid on top all in so said no thanks.

20 Dec 16 #171
I called through to speak about the deal, sales office didn't offer me anything so I ended up speaking to the retentions team but they couldn't offer me a deal. The person in retentions said that she'll put in contact with the outbound team. in a nutshell, they offered me the 200 meg broadband, xl TV, talk weekends and line rental for 35.99 which they've also thrown in a V6 box with install in mid Jan. Hopefully this info might help someone.
ST3123
20 Dec 16 #168
This seems to be getting more expensive all the time! Neither the OP nor the (carefully cropped) letter made any mention of all these extra charges that you have had to pay. So you are paying £105 extra upfront for it all in total? (£40+£50+£15). Not sure I want it so much now!

Has everyone who accepted for this offer been told they will have to pay all that?

Perhaps I was naive to expect no upfront cost on their flagship box but I think £105 is a bit steep, maybe £50-£60 all in would be a reasonable upfront cost. Will try calling a bit more as it has got me itching to upgrade, but perhaps this deal isn't the deal I first thought, though admittedly it's still good if you can afford the extra £105 coming out of your account straight away, but unfortunately I can't....

I hate it when they charge an 'activation' fee. From experience the engineer calls Virgin and tells them to switch it on . 15 quid for that.
ST3123
20 Dec 16 #167
Didnt realise that. Seems almost pointless them even having the 4k box, unless virgin are going to get some 4k content themselves?

I know it has 4k youtube and netflix but so does just about every 4k tv on the market, they are very common apps. If it had amazon in 4k that would have helped a bit but it doesn't.

I think unless i can get free install (doubtful) im going to give it a miss and save £19 pm (currently on £20 pm for 70mb and basic phone) as it just seems a bit of a waste having a 4k box with zero 4k broadcast content....

karlie88
20 Dec 16 #160
Did they mention anything about a £40 installation fee on top for the engineer to set up a V6 box? It's written in small print within the offer letter/brochure and was only mentioned right at the end of my phone call.

We're getting the Full House 200 offer for £39 a month for 24 months, £50 extra for the V6 box, £15 activation fee plus £40 installation fee.
golfer2007
20 Dec 16 #161
wow this is one dodgy phone call oO but I think I'm getting it.

She tried to give it me without the movies for £30 but mentioned the movies and now its £39.

Now I'm on hold........

tried giving me tivo but I asked for v6 - £49.95 no installation fee

30th January installation

confirmed £39 month for 24 months

now I'm back on hold........

So... I have unlimited calls which I want to keep and that knocks it up to £46 a month for 24 months

Back on hold......... this is the longest I've been on hold

Done.

I'm trying to haggle with Virgin Media at the moment and the best I've got so far is the Fun bundle for £41. The Full House Movie offer would be amazing in comparison. I was wondering if you had a photo of the entire leaflet (with terms and conditions, etc.). The one on here is cut off.

The v6 box is a manned installation. But it's really not required mine was done in minutes so I'm glad I didn't pay anything for it.

It's seems just a way to recoup some of the costs tbh. The true costs if you can't blag it free are on the virgin forums. £14.99 activation on all services, £49.99 one off charge if on xl TV as part of a package and £99.99 one off charge if any TV service under xl.

You also must have 200mb broadband to currently qualify as the v6 doesn't have its own dedicated broadband like the old TV which had 10mb in addition to your broadband.

It was just a lead in of course to what he was really phoning about and that was Virgin mobile. I told him I wasn't interested in this as the EE signal was so bad near me but he carried on with his script anyway. I asked about this deal, he ignored me then I told him I was interested in taking broadband with VM and one of the new boxes but he continued prattling on about virgin mobile. Oh and just to add, the price is not guaranteed for 2 years even though the letter/leaflet is plastered with 'just £30 a month for 24 months'. Just a word of advice about Virgin. Absolutely disgusting Customer service, the worst I have ever had from any company ever!!! This time last year my broadband stopped working and I had to wait 1 and a 1/2 months to have it fixed. They will feed you a bunch of lies and eat up your valuable time in calls to follow up. Shambles of a company.

In the end the engineer that came out even told me they are just contracted out and the fix they did could have been done within days. Even after I Confronted VM about the lies and their incompetence they didn't want to give me any compensation. In their eyes, giving me back my rental for the period I didn't have any service was more than adequate.

The only reason I have stuck with them is because I can't get the speeds they offer on BB with anyone else.

IF they provided a good service this would be a stonking hot deal!

Having recently moved from Virgin's TiVo to Sky Q (which you can get half price for a year), I don't think I'd ever want to touch a TiVo box again.

We kept the broadband (and phone, for what it's worth), with Virgin, since their broadband is better than anything BT have to offer, but my god the Sky box/system is so much better. Loads more content and the box is really nice to use - we got fed up with the spinning circle every time we wanted to watch a recording on Virgin!

One thing worth noting - which is something I noticed with our TiVo boxes (may be different with the V6, but I doubt it) - when watching content recorded on one box on a second box, the quality is very poor - almost SD, and no 5.1 is transmitted - it was stereo only.

me too. spemt hour on phone after he said he could do the deal no problem, then said i could have v6 box for 49.95 upfront. so i said yeh why not, then after ages on hold was told v6 box was 7.50 a month on top as well, and the system wouldn't let him do the deal without it. hung up.

Thanks, I was paying £38 a month just for 200mb internet so an extra quid for tv, bt sport, sky cinema and phone is amazing!
Donzy12
18 Dec 16 #77
Umm yeah that was a bit ****, admittedly I added a few bits ie multiroom, V6 box, and sports came out at £117 a month with £165 installation!! What a joke, hope I have more joy tomorrow. And I've even cancelled my phone and BB 10 days a go, but still not budging!

If you've paid line rental saver - Is it still £39?

18 Dec 16 #75
I have been with them for 15 years and they told me this offer wasn't available to me either.

18 Dec 16 #74
I just got this deal! Very pleased with it. My previous bill was £38.24 so to get all those extras for £39, is pretty sweet :sunglasses:

Only downside for me, is because I didn't have a Virgin phone line, I had to pay the installation fee for that and the TV equipment, but I can't complain. Also the wait for installation is 2 months, which kinda sucks, but I'm in a big city, it's going to be different everywhere, so if you're interested, it could be quicker for you
Mike69uk1

18 Dec 16 #70
So its £49 per month for 24 months?
Cezza01
18 Dec 16 #69
Got this deal but ended up paying £49 for the V6 installation. Took a while for the operator to thrash it out though. After 24 months goes up to the normal price of £105!!!! Also, not available to install until February.

You need to get through to sales. First guy I talked to in CS though I was dreaming.
jostopshot
18 Dec 16 #68
Did you get the v6 included via a different number to the above? They told me they couldn't include the v6 in this bundle and if I wanted it separately it would be circa £68ish and if have to order through customer service instead. Any feedback would be appreciated
stelo
18 Dec 16 #67
Received the same letter from them yesterday, called them and yes offer is available for those who does not have tv with them (including myself)
Tried hard to get a second box for another room but no luck, also its tivo box not the latest V6 box :disappointed:

That works out at £49 a month. you have paid your line rental up front. If like me you pay it every month. not such a good deal.
zeffania
18 Dec 16 #64
I dropped the XL package over a year ago so we were just on broadband 50 and phone at a reduced rate of around £29 I think. not completely sure as I paid for the line rental saver.

I had a similar letter, but for 100mb at £30 a month including line rental. seemed a no brainer for us so our TiVo box will come on Tuesday.

means I can save our 6 month now TV ents pack for a while longer, I get footy back and a spare youview box. Not forgetting the anywhere TV app

One thing to bear in mind, it was letter specific and the guys on the phone were a bit slow in tracking me on their database
benson2266
18 Dec 16 #63
You are allowed to leave 4 weeks prior to the price increase if you were given notice. If it was done by email they will have the date and try to tell you that you are under the original contract.
joerob1972

Am i right in thinking that the recent price increase means they have changed your contract. Therefore you can negotiate a better deal or leave even if you just agreed a new contract before November when the increase happened.

Virgins customer service is disgusting, I lost my TV and Internet because of works they were doing in the area, it then took them ten days to get an engineer out, even though we have two Virgin engineers that live in our street, very poor. If you are a current customer and your contract is not coming to an end then you are screwed, I would not recommend them to anyone and will leave when my contract with them runs out, absolutely disgusting customer service.

I've just received this deal
they kept me hold for a while
the guy checked out the hotdeals site
and said someone from our sales team would call me
they called me and gave me the deal
if you want v6 box though it's 49quid
one off and you need an engineer to fit it
but tivo was free and posted out
herby247
18 Dec 16 #57
I left Virgin Media before the launched their new V6 Tivo box, as they were wanting £77 for broadband, all channels WITHOUT sports and movies and a VERY slow Tivo box.
Jumped to Sky Q 2TB box + multiroom with ALL movies, sports in hd, box sets, all other channels including the Sky exclusive Sky Atlantic, (+1 for Westworld btw) + broadband and line rental for £58.60 a month, (was MSE 75% discount offer while back).
Virgin will need to go some to match the ease of use that the Sky Q service offers, after a sluggish Tivo box Sky Q is flawless.
But i hear good things about the new V6, ..........

18 Dec 16 #49
I've just got this deal. No squabbles. Didn't even get the letter - just quoted the package and that it's fixed price for two years at £39. Had to pay a £14.99 activation fee though. Also sending me a Superhub 3(heard bad things about it though). I also called the number in the letter pictured above.
ST3123
18 Dec 16 #48
Sure that's true but i think this is at least a bit special because it includes the latest v6 box that virgin have just launched. When sky q first launched it was almost impossible to get it for a reasonable price and it is only in recent months that it has become affordable and even then only the cut down 1tb variant.

Admittedly early reviews suggest the v6 is a much more modest advance than sky q but its still a desirable box in a bargain pricced package.

Id be over the moon if i could get this...

18 Dec 16 #39
It's cold from me I'm afraid. I got one of the letters, rang up and was told as I have TV already I can't get this deal and it was just a marketing glitch. When I threatened to leave over it the guy just said "well I think you've got a good deal anyway but if you want to cancel then we will lose you over it!" Never had that before! Not happy with them anymore and will not recommend to people. The only reason I didn't call their bluff is that I need my internet connection. Beware if you have TV already they don't honour it, they blame their marketing department. Only silver lining I got was the person on the phone turned off all the marketing for me (supposedly!) poor customer service though
ST3123
18 Dec 16 #38
Absolutely brilliant offer. Unfortunately, when i renewed about two months ago the v6 wasn't out and i was sick of the old tivo so got rid of the tv and got a cheap retentions deal with bb 70mb and basic phone for £20pm. Dont regret it as i still think its good offer though i have to admit id have probably plumbed for this if it was available.

As i dont have tv now does anyone think they might be willing to upgrade me for this price or would they refuse since im now back on contract?

Very tempted to have a go...

18 Dec 16 #33
Sadly VM don't seem to give a stuff about their existing customer base....until it looks like they're going to leave in droves for the likes of Sky etc.

I had to cancel on the premise I was switching to Sky to get anything out of them. I'm tied in for another 12 months now and the Op's deal is certainly better than I got overall. These suppliers will never learn though that if they treat customers differently (especially new and existing) their loyal user base will inevitably dwindle.

If there was a competing fibre broadband provider I'd have likely stuck to my guns and left them by now.
remussica
18 Dec 16 #32
Managed to get it a few minutes ago, was on 35£ p/m on my normal 200 mb vivid fiber contract. 4 quid extra for TV with sky movies and bt sport, that's a good deal I'd say.
benson2266
18 Dec 16 #31
I think to get this offer you have to either give notice of your 30days to leave or as stated not currently have a TV package.
gillhoose1888
18 Dec 16 #30
I will now leave virgin first chance I get as they are telling me all they can offer me is the sky movies for £33 extra a month. So I would pay £33 for next movies yet other virgin customers can very the full package for £6 more that can't be right

18 Dec 16 #19
So - when ringing the number, do you go through to queries about your account? My contract is up and rang up about two weeks ago and they knocked my bill down to around £40, but that was with medium TV and 100mb BB. I didn't sign the contract they sent through because it quoted a different price to what I'd been told on the phone. Was considering ringing back to cancel - but if I can just quote full house movies limited edition offer and get this I'd be happy. How did you get the offer initially? Was it a letter or e-mail?

Just saw the screenshot of the letter someone posted. Might just cancel and see what they offer me as a bit annoyed about being told one price on the phone and having another price sent via e-mail.

Cheers.
gillhoose1888
18 Dec 16 #18
I phoned minutes ago 17/12/2016 and was told this offer is only valid for virgin customers who haven't got a TV package. For me to get the full house movies limited edition offer I would have to pay £73 a month and £114.99 upfront for the v6 box. So it's an absolute iceberg cold from me.
